HAIRBOX 5 — Local services in Miami Beach

I visited the salon around six months ago and had a great experience with Dan for a haircut. Impressed by his precision, I returned for color, specifically requesting a gentle, subtle highlights around my face for a natural look. After completion, the color didn't match my vision, but it looked okay to me at first, so I paid (even though the price wasnt discussed prior haircut). Nevertherless, the owner kindly provided a partial discount afterwards, addressing the oversight. However, upon closer inspection post-wash, I discovered most of my hair was blonde, just hidden on the bottom layers, contrary to my preference. Despite reaching out for a refund due to dissatisfaction, there has been no response from the salon, leaving me disappointed with their lack of customer engagement. It seems they only care about their image, but they don't really care about what the customer says and whether he/she is happy or not - which is sad. I still did not receive any response to my email from hairbox 5 to this day.

Now I have to waste more money going to a place that can fix the mess - meaning my blond hair that stands out like an eye sore to me. The blond hair that was suppose to be a gentle highlight.

I'm really disappointed that this salon doesnt actually care about the customers happiness. I would not mind at all paying any price for a haircut and color, as long as I am happy - and the fact that the salon NEVER GOT BACK TO MY EMAIL ( I would at least expect an offer to fix my hair until I'm happy ) is alarming.

Unfortunately...

I am in love with and loyal to Hairbox 5 and Samantha my hairstylist. The salon is bright and beautiful, the staff are so friendly, you feel like you’re coming home. I live in South Beach so it’s close by and always a joy to visit. Prices are fair and they explain what you are paying for so you feel comfortable.

I’ve been getting my hair highlighted and cut with Sam for 4 years and haven’t gone anywhere else. She always welcomes me warmly, consults me on how to color my hair, and goes above and beyond to make me feel beautiful! I have dark Asian hair and always get blonde highlights. It is hard to lift such dark hair without getting brassy. She’s worked so well with it and knows it so well now to get the perfect natural looking blonde!

Sam even helped to organize a surprise payment for my hair with my sister as a birthday gift and always makes sure I get home okay after my appointments :)

I have been a resident of Miami Beach for almost 20 years. This is the salon I have been searching for! The salon is chic and clean and ownership is lovely. You feel welcome from the minute you step in the door. They are on time and professional and I’m never kept waiting. The real secret sauce is my stylist Samantha! Let me start by admission that I’m a blow dry addict. I have had a standing blow dry appointment for most of my adult life. My hair is curly and difficult so I leave it to professionals to manage. That said, I’ve had some good stylist through the years but always had to go off the beach for a good blowout. Then I was introduced to Samantha and all that changed. She does the most amazing blowout that lasts ALL WEEK! In this Miami humidity, that’s no easy feat. She also does great color and a perfect haircut. I can’t say enough good things about this...
