Iāll say this as someone that had the unfortunate experience of coming here several times, giving several chancesā do not come here.
The owners are extremely rude, as well as unprofessional. They cannot run a proper business that is consistent and dependable.
The boba is often overcooked. Nobody measures how much dark corn syrup (itās not brown sugar, just corn syrup. Think about whether or not you want that served to your kids.) is put inside of it, so itās often extremely gooey and overly sweetened. Iāve never had a firm tapioca here in my life and the poppinsā are more often than not soggy and taste like theyāve been reusing the same poppinsā for days at a time.
Flies are everywhere. Fruit flies buzz around EVERYWHERE. I never see anybody cleaning with any kind of disinfectant or spray, just a wet towel. Floors are often dirty from the heavy foot traffic and bathroom is also often a mess from the kids that come in and wreck it.
Customers are equally as rude. Everybody knows everybody here so theyāre not too kind or welcoming to people they donāt know outside their neighborhood. Itās very clear that the owners have favoritism for the people that live around here so much so that it heavily affects the service. I have been uncomfortable several times with the way both customers and employees have often ogled me or given me nasty looks, especially the taller gentleman with the hat and blonde older woman.
The children from around are often causing a scene. Employees and managers forget they actually do in fact run a store and do not contain or control the chaos whatsoever. Sometimes, I notice the kids haggle the cashier that doesnāt speak a lot of English for free toppings. I donāt see any managers help her or stand up for her. I donāt believe these individuals care very much about their employees or customers if they donāt personally know them.
This shop is also incredibly expensive. An average sized boba will cost you at least 10-15$ depending on whether or not you want to actually get BOBA inside of your BOBA DRINK⦠Charging 15$ even for a luxury drink is ridiculous especially when your poppinsā and tapioca are available in bulk online for less than 2 dollars an ounce, as well as your syrups. You can go to Ohla Tea, Million Delights, Hotline Boba⦠not a single place has a standard drink over 15$ even when you add extra toppings. Every single one of those places is leagues better than here for service and cleanliness alone considering this establishment canāt seem to maintain either of these key qualities to a successful business.
I tried many times to give this place a chance. Several times of coming here throughout several months and it just seems to me like you guys are taking advantage of a popular trend (boba) knowing your key audience (the copious amounts of kids around) and having a gimmick (it being Kosher) to have a justifiable reason to come HERE over anywhere. Youāre providing kosher boba, but you basically opened up a shop for your friends and friends alone. What stopped you from just hosting a boba night at your own house with your friends if keeping a business in order was too difficult of a task for you? They DO have premade kits on Amazon that are kosher and halal.
Taiyaki canāt even be considered a saving grace here. The batter is delicious, but you can buy the mix online as well. They also often are broken yet placed in the box regardless to save time and sometimes the edges come out burnt. Doesnāt help that they only scrub filling spills and burnt batter with only water and continue to churn on the pancakes with the stench of old fried up oil coating the room when they layer ANOTHER round of oil on top of the old one.
Capitalizing off of Gen Zās boba craze by upcharging like crazy and giving NOT special treatment but instead KIND SERVICE (a staple of a business) only to those people youāve already known the whole time like your daughterās friendās mom or your sonās teacher ⦠thatās what this shop is.
Well, at least you have an award for being the worst food/drink...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is one cool place š. Boba or "bubble" tea as many other places refer to it, is something I always wanted to try, ever since hearing of it years ago. But there were no places with official kosher certification in the NY metro area (that I was aware of). After moving to South Florida last year, I was very excited when I heard this place was opening a number of months ago, and of course myself and a few of my daughters were among the first to try it. It was not a disappointment. The drinks were unusual and refreshing and the waffles and ice cream were excellent. Besides that, the employees were friendly and helpful. Still, I felt there were a few kinks to be ironed out, so I refrained from writing a review. Today I finally had a chance to return a second time (I live over an hour away to the north) and am happy to report we enjoyed it even more than the first time. For a unique and refreshing treat in a quaint but highly appealing setting, I recommend taking a visit! Edit - I forgot to mention that I asked the workers whatever happed to the "Tbot" - the robot that is supposed to make the Boba (hence the name) which is sitting non-operative in the corner? I was told it was supposed to be ready for action shortly, they are waiting for some specialized parts to arrive from China. I can't wait to see that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy drink had to be laced. One sip and I saw my life flash before my eyes from how terrible it was. The milk teas are literally JUST MILK, AND DO NOT GET THE STRAWBERRY GREEN TEA. It HAD to be laced. You'll never understand how fast my stomach began to gurgle after the first taste. I ended up drinking the entire thing because the price was too painful not to, and if I explode to immense bowel movement, you know why.
Update: The friend I went to this place with ended up in the ER for food poisoning just hours after...
