I recently signed up for a free laser session at Eye Candy Laser as someone new to the world of laser hair removal. The offer sounded very tempting, especially since I live in Hollywood and was willing to drive a bit and even leave work early just to try it out.
However, my experience was mixed. From the moment I showed interest, I received an overwhelming number of texts and calls—easily around 30 messages—reminding me to schedule or confirm my appointment. I understand follow-ups are part of marketing, but this felt excessive.
When I arrived, I was first presented with a breakdown of services and asked which one I’d like to buy. I mentioned that it would depend on the price, but instead of being provided with clear pricing upfront, I was asked again what I wanted, and only then would they share the cost. As someone new to laser, this didn’t feel very welcoming or informative.
Eventually, I was quoted around $2,500 for Brazilian, legs, and underarms for 12 months—which honestly isn’t a bad price. However, the strategy to close the sale was what felt uncomfortable. They encourage you to finance through banks like Affirm and ask for private information on the spot without much chance to get to know the place or feel fully comfortable.
Since I chose not to apply for financing or put a down payment that day, I was never given the free session I originally came in for. As someone who also works in sales within the health field, I completely understand the business side—but from a client’s perspective, the experience felt more like a pushy sales pitch than a welcoming introduction to laser services.
Hopefully, this helps others manage their expectations and encourages the business to refine their approach for...
Read moreMy wife had a very bad experience. She won a free laser removal in a giveaway which she participated on Instagram. She got several texts, reminding her that she had the appointment for a Free appointment today at 9:30, and a few phone calls. All ok for now. She arrives there today 04/05/2025, before the time scheduled, as they said if she were to arrive earlier she would get $30 in future treatments. Once she arrived, they immediately tried to sell a plan for over $1800. She replied she went there because she won a free laser removal, and they insisted on selling the plane. She explained that she didnt want a financing for over two years, as its her first time getting laser, she doenst even know if it works for her. They continuously sent links while she was there, demanding she clicked on them, even grabbed her phone, accepting the financing. Ridiculous, you dont touch a customers phone without permission, and NO means NO. The lady was very pushy, even calling the manage, saying that if she wasnt putitng the money in the financing, she would just waste it in mcdonalds, that it was something's beneficial for health, she had to be commited to do. My wife insited no, they finally gave up and said " come back when you ste ready to commit for your health", and no free laser or $30 discount was given....
