We decided to go to Ciboney on my last night in Miami. Needless to say I didn't want to leave my family after a food and fun filled Christmas holiday, but even more so after we had dinner at Ciboney Cuban Restaurant! Absolutely amazing food!
They started us out with pressed Cuban bread with butter brushed on top...heaven! :) We order our drinks (Materva, Jupina, y Malta, repsectively!) We then ordered an appetizer-the Mariquitas con ajo de lemon! Highly addicting, if you like authentic Cuban flavors! We all order about the same things, with minor variations. My Madrina recommended the Masitas con Malanga, but I was in the mood for (always in the mood for) platanos Maduros y arroz Moro! So, we got the Masitas de Pollo with different sides! It was spectacular! Fresh, hot, flavorful, juicy, tangy (especially if you dip the masitas de pollo in the ajo de lemon...again, heaven!), and just downright GOOD! I highly recommend this Cuban restaurant as well due to my Madrina recommending it for the past several years now!
So, go check it out if you are ever in the Hialeah, FL area and share what you think!...
Read moreCiboney has been around for as long as I can remember. It is known for great Cuban food in the heart of Miami Lakes/Gardens. Unfortunately, it seems as if their quality has been decreasing lately. My boyfriend and I went for date night recently and I was feeling a little under the weather so I asked for a chicken soup (their soup is amazing) I was brought the smallest bowl you can think of. When I asked the server he said that it is the same price as the TO-GO soup but unfortunately the owners have not purchased bigger bowls for serving while dining-in. What? You mean to tell me that I need to then ask for a soup TO-GO to be able to get the regular size soup? Its like being penalized for dining in? The server was very nice though and it is not his fault at all, service was great. Given the fact that it was a SUNDAY evening and there were only 3 occupied tables, tells you the quality of this place has declined because in the past you had to wait to be seated. Owners need to pay a little more attention to this business because something is...

We asked for small plates and new utensils for the dessert and they told us no. BUT for a $15 up charge they would provide us with 4 clean plates and spoons. In addition, the service was horrible. Our glasses of water (with no ice) were empty, we died of thirst. The server got the order wrong and we had to wait for one of the dishes to come out correct. They never cleared any plates off the table, we had to stack them and hand them to the guy. I could go to Burger King and get better service than this.. At least their motto is "have...
