Consulate General of Guyana — Local services in Miami

I had a truly positive experience at the Guyana Consulate in Miami, and I want to specifically recognize Lea for her professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help. She went above and beyond to make the process smooth, and her efforts should not go unnoticed.

I’ve seen some of the negative reviews here, but honestly, many of them seem to come from people with extremely low emotional intelligence. Complaining about the location of a consulate is not only childish but also ungrateful, this office is clearly handling a heavy workload, including backlogs from New York and Washington, D.C., yet still provides a vital service to the community.

I also witnessed firsthand how much Lea has to deal with from extremely rude clients. While I was there, one client became upset because she thought simply coming in to pick up her passport meant she should be able to take it and leave immediately. Lea handled the situation with grace and professionalism, calmly reminding the client that there is a process in place that must be followed. I truly commend Lea for the way she managed that encounter.

I also want to acknowledge and thank Lea’s cousin for his kind gesture in supporting this consulate office. It speaks volumes about the dedication and spirit of service surrounding this team.

I'm not sure who is running this place but they need to be removed and hire someone who can actually run a consulate. If you're try to call the phone goes straight to voicemail, it does not ring. If you all are in need of help please reach out to me. I'm willing to volunteer so that other can be service unlike myself. Please note I only gave 1 star because the system would not allow me to post without it. Oh and please don't Covid as the excuse as why phone are not being answered or no one at the office as this has been going on for...

Location is not the issue. Phone rep is always polite and helpful when answer phone previously to our visit. 10:16am. Website shows open at 10am. Currently 10:23am 3 calls left messages no call back. All 3 doors closed. No signs of any office reps. 3 hrs drive here. Not sure if they will even open today.SMH. So disappointed! 10:39am received a call back from the kind rep was told closed for phagwha and can meet up with us to get transaction put in process.🙏 thank god. Based on that i will give 4 stars.
