Visited this place on Sunda, July 30th. Ok first let’s talk about the bill…three plates $79 without tax $87.60 total with a non-cash fee WTH hell! Okay, I was good though b’cas I heard the food was good. To my surprise it was mediocre at best. My grandmother’s Sunday dinner is better than this. They definitely need a lesson on seasonings especially for their so-called oxtails. The meat was tender but the favor was not what I expected at all! We tried salmon, chicken, oxtails, collard greens, Mac and cheese, yellow rice which was suppose to black beans and rice, and candied yams. Again, not the typical southern or Jamaican restaurant. Then the oxtails was for to-go and the rest was eat-in. Lo and behold everything came in to-go plates. They definitely didn’t know who they were serving because we are foodies. We drove an hour and a half b’cas of the reviews and would’ve been repeat customers had the food been worth the drive and gas. I’m pissed not only because the food wasn’t up to par but the servings and flavor weren’t either. If you like collar greens full of vinegar you will love this place but if you know what good southern or Jamaican food is skip, pass and go to the next. Don’t use your card b’cas they charge their customers to do so. Credit ando debit cards are beneficial to businesses and a convenience for customers. You make up the difference from repeat business, good food and service. Please take notes on...
Read moreI hate to give this place 1 star, but at this point, they deserve it. Let me start off by saying when iKrave first opened this opened it was all I could talk about. The service and the food were magnificent! My favorite was the shrimp and grits. When we got there my family and I sat in the center. I didn't want to sit in the center; we moved to another table. That table had flies flying, we went back to the center table. The waitress took our order. We knew it would take while, so we were patient. Finally, the food shrimp and least my order.) I o ordered the small shrimp and grits. When I usually order the shrimp and grits it is usually in a bowl very full of shrimp and grits this time it was on a plate with only five shrimps in it. So, while the rest of my family were waiting on their food, another family that came 15 minutes after us got their food. We asked why that family got their food, and we were here before them? the lady could not answer. On top off all that some of the people serving the food look like they were underage. We went to the counter and paid for my food and told the people at the counter to cancel our order. The cooks did not have on gloves or hair nets. We will not be returning to this...
Read moreSo for starters, I enjoy the taste and flavors of the food here at Ikrave. I gave this place 3 stars because of their prices not matching the portions. As a restaurant worker, I get the demand for certain products especially in this time of inflation. However to cheat the customers out a full meal is not fair. I ordered a Large Oxtail with 2 sides (collars & yams) Once I got my food and looked at it, not only did the employee close the box fast, she immediately said, “I’m going to have them add some more to your sides. It was so small, like it was feeding a toddler. I had her open the box again to see about 7 small pieces of Oxtail, and I mean small where some look like bone only. She insisted that a large is about 7 pieces. Where!!!?? This small!!? I suggest you all take a trip to to a couple of Jamaican restaurants who also charge $20+ for large oxtail and notice the difference. The plate weighed almost nothing, everyone knows a oxtail plate is heavy. Anyway after asking for more gravy, they fixed my order and it was a lot more satisfying to look at. And again the taste of the food is great! Just don’t charge $26 for a $15 plate of food. A Lb of oxtail is about $10-15 in stores, and it’s way more than 7 tiny pieces of meat. Don’t think would order...
