Overall this was not a good experience especially compared to the same problem from 8/30/2022 to 9/3/2022. It all started with my check in to the hospital on 5/30/2024. I had and gave the staff a written copy of the medications that I take daily, I explained why those specific meds had to be the only ones taken. Specifically that I am very allergic to 2 of the main inert ingredients in most bulk packaged meds contain these two ( Glycerin and Phenol) are the binders and fillers most of them are used AND the ones that I had brought with me were specifically checked to make sure they were ok for me. After considerable discussion I was ok'd to take mine. But your drugs were sent up for me anyway, and when refused and explained why the comment was " what do I do with these expensive meds". But when I was given the hospital's meds taken some of them were still on the list even though the nurse entered the corrections the correct information. Which bring us to Lovenox. The pharmacy apparently did not get the same information, which that any and all of this type of medications information was to be sent to my Cardiologist, Dr. Henry Chong and that any decisions of what to take were to come through him. There was a heart med listed on the discharge papers that I had been taken in years and was not on the written list I had given to start with. I called Dr. Chong with the info and he said that only 2 days worth ( 4 injections) were needed. Even after all of this( probably written before) was an order for a months worth ( 60 injections)sent to my pharmacy without any consent, This was even sent down to the discharge area of the main campus, trying to get me to agree to this for a total of $ 506.00 and that could work out a plan that would reduce the cost to $ 362.00.( This had already been sent to my Pharmacy, with any information given to me.) The cost of 2 days was $ 32.00. Makes me wonder how many others were given this type of change! My Pharmacy rejected this order. 2 days have proven to be the correct dosage. Moving on, the last thing that I had to eat/drink was Tue.am and never was given anything to drink ,even water to take meds with, until Wed. afternoon, after being transferred to the main campus. The nursing staff did what they could but were over-ridden by Protocol. Now the information that was given by the department heads to allow using my meds never made it there. So we went through this all over again. Then came the CT scan followed by the Miralax, and some liquid, Thurs. afternoon. Then Fri .afternoon, after many clear stool samples I was given discharge orders. There at the discharge area was the last ditch effort to pedal the 30 day (60) Lovenox with special arrangements. To end this I have to say this no way compared to the same basic thing I had in Sept. 2022. The Miamisburg campus was far below the main campus standards, from bathrooms used for storage(port-pots only)to the lack of communication between each department and campus was appalling. There other things I could address( like after discharge info that would go against what has been tested and , is in use now for 21 years of medication pertaining to heart meds) that is in my files available to any Hospital or Doctor. Needless to say this has soured my opinion of ( where it starts) the management of Kettering Health. Most of the Doctors and Nurses are dedicated and professional in their duties. But apparent to me is they have a hand tied behind their...

I went into the ER with severe LOWER Back pain, my bp is normally 100/75 and my bp was 148/94 due to my pain.
The ādoctorā came in asked me how I was managing my pain advised Tylenol and Ibuprofen on a rotating clock along with bio freeze patches.
They ordered a CT of my back the CT Tech came in and saidā Iām taking you to get the scanāstood at the door didnāt offer to help or assist with getting to the wheelchair across the room.
Then when I got to ct she threw what was on the ct bed off and saidā when your ready head here and face upā then she walked away while I was still in the wheelchair again didnāt offer to help. Came back after I laid down and said āItās going to go in and out a couple of timesā then walked way.
Came back in the room said ādoneā then she used the sheet I was laying on and yanked it up sending shooting pain through by back. Only for her to say āoh my bad I thought you were resisting me from getting you up I now see the sheet was caught in the machine told the other tech to get my feet then take me backā
Once back in the room the ādoctorā came back in and said āyou donāt have any emergent issues i.e no spine fracture nor bulging disc so we are going to discharge you with Tylenol and ibuprofenā I asked about getting something stronger so I could at least get some sleep tonight knowing it would be a while for me to get to my pcp, neurologist, brain and spine, and obgyn with the holidays.
He said no because those type of medicines should be used a bandaid Iām ok with a small dose seeing as your pain isnāt that bad.
At the time of my discharge my bp that they ran 3 times was 138/105, 138/104 and 138/101 which should have been reason for concern seeming as MY BP NORM is 100/75.
The nurse that discharged me asked if I had any questions and I saidā I only see Tylenol and ibuprofen for medication called he said he would prescribe a small dose of pain medicineā
She saidā I donāt see it in there Iāll go askā she came back and said in front of me and my husband ā the doctor will call it in to Walgreens ā I said ok she then said ādo you need a new discharge letterā I should have said yes and didnāt because I was still in pain and took her at her word.
When I got home I looked at my chart and the doctor charted Cauda equina syndrome, fracture, Conus medullaris. Spinal epidural abscess. Malignancy. Meaning the ādoctorā was either dishonest or malicious when saying there were no emergent issues.
My husband went to pick up my prescription and it was only Tylenol and ibuprofen. I called the hospital to see why it wasnāt called and was transferred 5 times and had to repeat the reason for my call each time. Only for the last person I talked to dismissively sayā Well he isnāt here anymore and Iām not showing where he called it in and there is nothing they could do. I asked for the patient resource number and she put me on hold. Then she came back said a phone number then hung up didnāt letting me confirm the number she just hung up.
To be clear I do not agree with cursing or belittling anyone answering the phone no matter how I feel and at not point didnāt I lose my temper. This experience has been traumatizing and I am disappointed about the complete lack of concern and medical ācareā...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was told I talked to the Anesthesiologist before the surgery. Is dr tidbit the anesthesiologist? Not according to the lady that didnāt introduce herself after the horrible hallucination I had when I woke up. They used ketamine without explaining the fairly high odds of a very uncomfortable hallucination. When I came out of surgery a couple nurses/staff talked about me like I wasnāt there. Rude. And last but not least, they told me over and over that my wife had been called to come and pick me up. I kept asking because they had the number wrong when I checked in. Surgery seems fine but the staff is lacking. I waited wondering why my wife wasnāt there for an hour after the 30 minute post operation wait. They basically lied to my face twice. I did meet the anesthesiologist after the surgery though because of my hallucination. Do not use ketamine, trust me. Google it. It was the most terrifying situation Iāve ever had in my life. I thought I was dying and I woke up screaming and crying. One star for the staff. If there was a separate place for surgery quality it would be 5 stars. Itās not that sore and the incision looks good. Make sure you ask questions if you decide to go here. And ask them with force and authority. They work for you, not the other way around. Or just flat out donāt go there. UPDATE: I went back because I knew I had pancreatitis and thatās where I went the first time, well over 15 years ago. Iāll keep it short and simple but honest. They did a good job getting my really bad inflamed pancreas under control. The nurses seemed pretty knowledgeable and I dig the diversity of people and personalities. We all know the lack of staff has hurt all functions. They did pretty good for what they were working with. Nurses would get called on their ear piece about 3 other things before she/he could get the 1st thing done with me. That takes talent. Just to not snap is talent. But it does cause a lack of communication because people can only process so much. Not their fault. I wonāt nit pic every little thing. Staff did good this time around. Three stars. Next time. IF I go again itāll be 5 or back to 1. Most likely. Good job none the less. There was some very caring nurses there. My first one couldāve used a little more empathy on my severe pain and not made me wait on a med that was ready to go for two hours after she said Iāll be right back. If this was about her it would be -20 stars. Fake. No empathy. Would forget you were even there. And then not say sorry or nothing. Sheāll get...
