El Rancho Grande - West Carrollton — Restaurant in West Carrollton

Went there for a large family gathering which I understand if there's slow service for, however we picked a slow time for the restaurant and gave them 4 weeks of notice.

After being seated the other 3 tables of our party was served and ate dinner and we're halfway through dessert before our food came out. The reason given was that there was only one cook and he went out on break. Are you kidding me? In the midst of a large party your only cook takes a break!? Once we finally got our food it was mediocre at best the poppers were cold and soggy, their excuse: our ovens broken? Then why even offer it?

Our server told us she talked to the manager 3 times to get him to come over to our table but he was on "break" too even though he was at the front of house. After being talked to by 3 of the table members he lied to our faces and said he hadn't been informed about it before that point and that he saw no issues with the way it was handled. He did nothing to diffuse the situation until about 10 minutes after when he finally apologized to us.

Overall I've had way better Mexican food and never had such a terrible experience with a manager. If the owner sees this you need to do a much better job training your management because clearly they don't know how to schedule staff, schedule breaks, or diffuse situations. I won't be back to a place that...

After having food spilled on me 3 diffrent time I stopped eating at this location. After move i like .5 from this location so I started using the online ordering system for take out. The first time amd got a time to pick it up the had the order and forgot to send it back to be made amd we had to come back 20 mins later to get it. The 2 second time i called made sure the put the order in got a time and was still late. The 3rd time i called to get a time and make sure the sent it and they claimed they dodnt have the order even thought i had had a confirmation. Over all unhappy woth this location.

Editing on 1-6-20 Over all my experience with this location has gotten much better. Haven't have stuff spilled on me in the last like 6 trips. All though 4 of my orders have been wrong in the past few trips 3 of them have been fixed with easy. Little things like no sour cream or the substitution of cheese sauce for red sauce. Management is good. Food has almost always veen good. The only reason the 4th ine wasnt fixed was because i ordered thur door dash. Over all i am happy with the changes in the restaurant.

I will say over all the food is usually better as take out than dine in. Which is odd.

Food is consistently tasty and priced reasonably. Staff friendly I felt need to edit this review. I am still rating it a "5 star" WITH SOME CONCERNS. The last few times there seems to have been too few staff to handle the restaurant needs. We were seated and given water/menus then (wait)... then ordered food which as always, came quickly, tasted incredible then... (wait, while looking at uneaten food).... then refill water, clear plates....finally just went to counter WITHOUT the bill ever arriving.

Sidebar: One strength this store has had was a manager named Arturo. I don't think he is there now. There was a rather tacky box behind counter (that I had PLENTY of time to read waiting for them to bring my bill... we were only 1 of about 5 small tables in at the time) addressed to "STAFF" outlining punishment for USING CELL PHONES... It had stickers, decorations on it but STILL might be better out of patron view.
