Usually my go to for quick home goods rather than walmart or kroger however today at the Dollar General on South Alex road in West Carrollton Ohio I had a very negative experience with a cashier in store worker named Ginger. It is Christmas time in the store is set up with all types of Christmas décor and toys, I came in the store early this morning with my 3 children 1 Of whom is only 3 years Of age. My 3 year old became excited at the sight of the toys and began to grab a couple of things as I shopped that she wanted to get, this is very common for a lot of children her age. of course I told her that we weren't going to buy them and I had my 7 year old goal to put the items away which was TWO TOYS TOPS. The cashier named Ginger told my daughter to bring the items to her that way she could put them back where they go saying my daughter would not put them where they belonged, understandable. It was her attitude that struck me, as my daughter handed her the to items one stuffed animal and the make up kit the cashier was visibly irritated. She began to have an attitude but I let it go as I was walking out of the store. there was 1 miniature Mickey Mouse stuffed animal in the cart that my 1 year old had been holding on to, I guess my three-year-old handed it to her while I was shopping. While I was walking out and leaving the Mickey Mouse behind she called out at me telling me that I forgot my toy, to which I told her that it was Not mine and that my one year old was holding onto while I shopped and explained to her that my 3 year old must have given it to her. Ginger then threw her hands up in the air and rolled her eyes up to the ceiling in front of another customer as she rung her up but did not say anything, I stood there and watched her as she did this and told her you know what their kids and kids will be kids. I did not say anything else and yes I understand that my child should not have grabbed things in the store however this is very common in a retail store especially around the holidays when it's Christmas time. my three-year-old was corrected for grabbing the couple of toys that she did however like I said this is a common thing for children. I just do not think that as a cashier at a retail store she should have attitude with any customers to the extent of rolling her eyes and filling her arms in the air in front of other customers just because she has to put a couple of items away, this is a part of her job as a cashier and retail store worker as she will have to tidy up the store and put things back where they belong, this was a very negative experience for me and usually I have great experiences in the store with the other guys that...
Read moreItâs always been my favorite one to go to in the area, but lately not so much. Only giving three stars because of some of the staff. I wouldnât give some of them any. The two younger women who work there are too unprofessional for my taste. The one always looks and acts irritated and can never manage a smile or âhave a nice dayâ. Her and some other girl were working the other evening while my daughter and I were there, it was right before closing and we were the last two left in the store and they were up front chit chatting away, dropping F-bombs left and right and making inappropriate jokes about looking like someoneâs mom had a failed abortion attemptâŠ. By the time we are checking out they were, at that point, talking about âblowing upâ the bathroom. The one who always looks rude and irritated was checking us out, the other girl was just standing there, neither one said âhelloâ, or asked any typical store clerk question like if we had âfound everything we were looking forâ⊠nope, instead the one looked at the other and asked if we were the last two and then proceeded to hold the door open to rush us out. The rude looking girl goes from just looking the part to now acting the part and acts rudely towards my daughter over extra bags that came up with her shopping back when she picked it up. My daughter didnât know what to do with them and tried to ask but the girl was like, âtake them, just take themâ⊠my daughter who is autistic, did not catch the girls irritation and just said she simply didnât need them and laid them over the rack and then this girl snatched them up and balled them up and pitched them in the trash and looks at my daughter like sheâs stupid. I just told my daughter to come on and letâs go, to turn around and see the other girl is still standing there just waiting for us to leave holding the door open, but sheâs now on her phone and only holding it partially open, making it to where we have to squeeze past her. So yeaâŠ.. rude, immature, unprofessional, and...
Read moreThe bathroom policy is ridiculous - as a paying customer ($100+) my young children & I weren't allowed to use their restroom. I actually had to go to a nearby BAR so my child didn't pee her pants! A BAR let my kid use their bathroom & I didn't even buy anything from there! The store is always a mess, it's very disorganized & nothing is where it should be. Most of their employees are un-helpful & have bad attitudes, except for 1 or 2. There's a blonde guy with a beard who usually works in the evenings & he's very nice and helpful. They're way overpriced for the quality of the items they're selling. I would shop anywhere else, even Walmart & I hate Walmart! This store just happens to be the closest to my house & that's the ONLY reason I continue to give them my business. I don't know if it's company policy or not about the restroom usage, I'm just saying that if I'm spending $100+ at this store, my kids & I should at least be allowed to use a bathroom. I've never had a bathroom issue with any of the other discount stores like Dollar Tree, Big Lots or...
