When in Dayton we like to pick local restaurants and ethnic foods we can't get at home. We decided to give this place a try. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because they didn't quite have everything on the menu available which caused a quick turnaround of deciding what to order (which is hard with kids). Otherwise I would give a 5. The staff was very friendly. The food was amazing. My husband got the mixed grill: the grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the rest of the meats were also delicious. Even the rice had the perfect amount of flavor! The hummus has a surprisngly big kick of mixed with the red pepper, but mixed or not it was the best hummus I've ever had. I got the vegetarian sampler. My 1.5 year old and I devoured the grape leaves. The falafel was also good but may be a bit bland compared to others I've tried. However the tahini salad dipping sauce made everything spectacular. I also got the baba ganoush which was new for me, but may have just become one of my favorite foods. If you want to support local and try something new, I highly recommend you give this...
Read moreWhen it comes to Mediterranean restaurants, I have high standards, and I have to say that I am usually disappointed when I eat at Mediterranean restaurants because the food doesn't taste authentically Mediterranean enough for my preferences. So, when I tell you that this place is the place to go for Mediterranean food, you can be 100% confident that you are going to have a great experience here. I have driven over 25 miles at times to see if I could find a Mediterranean restaurant even just almost as good as this one, and I didn't have any luck, so I reiterate that this is unquestionably the place to go if you are ever in the Dayton, OH area and in the mood for Mediterranean food. I highly recommend the chicken shish kabob sandwich (among many other great dishes this place serves) with cheese inside. It tastes just like a Mediterranean chicken quesadilla and will probably taste better than any chicken quesadilla you have ever eaten. And on top of the great food, it's always a pleasure to interact with James, Ibrahim, and the rest of the staff.
So, do check this place out. I highly...
Read moreEvery time I’ve been in, the food has been consistently good and fresh and the people have been consistently friendly. Tonight the employee that took my food order asked if I like spicy—I responded “yes” and he gave me some spicy sauce for my food. It tasted really good! I feel like their middle eastern food has an added “comfort” element to it that I haven’t experienced from other ME restaurants. I have tried their bakery goods and they are equally amazing. Their pita bread comes in different flavors and are so good you could eat them just plain. I really want to look up some middle eastern recipes and get the ingredients here from the store—which on also has a great selection.
The people here have always been very friendly—can’t express this enough. Please be polite to them. They deserve business and they deserve...
