Ridley's Family Market — Local services in Middleton

We always shop here at Middleton but decided not to go there anymore because of an incident today.

We got some groceries and also wanted to get a gift card for a friend and went to the register and asked the woman at the register to add 50 dollars. Not sure if she misheard us, she thought we were there to redeem the card. She asked us to swipe and hit the “purchase “ button and told us oh there is no balance on it. We were like yes we’d like balance added for a friend. We were calm, we smiled and clarified again and thought it was a misunderstanding but the woman On the other hand decided to go off on us and spoke rude and loud. She passed false statements like “that is not what you told me” “you said you have 50 dollars on it” and “I am not going to argue with you” (not like we even argued). Such rude behavior ??? That is not how you treat your customers.

Anyway, she went ahead and pretended like she corrected it and charged us the 50 dollars. We reviewed the receipt at the parking lot only to realize that the card never registered this balance and she had just charged us 50 dollars for nothing. So we went back and another kind woman at a different counter helped us out. Btw, we honestly think the first rude woman actually realized that the balance didn’t register but was just very lazy to let us know or be bothered.

Bottom line, this behavior is unacceptable. There is no need to go off on a customer because you are too lazy to do your job correctly. We will not go back. I wish we complained about it then and there.

If anyone is 18 or 20 don't go to ace to Purchase a firearm like a shotgun or rifle because of the stuff going on in the nation with all the shooting an some of them being young men you will automatically be looked at as a criminal they handed me the shotgun an I asked if I could hold it an aim it the manager says to me ya as long as you don't aim it at anyone also asking me what do I want it for obvious for practice duh for shooting like come on took my business to sportsman's Warehouse where there Treated me With The most respect possible I tried to ask them questions about the form when I was filling it out and one of the employees leans on the table and Starts. Looking at me he is like two inches from me at that time I told them I needed help with a question they would get frustrated I was calling them sir saying yes sir yes Ma'am I don't see anyone in their 20s or younger using Manners people say the younger generation has no Manners But the older generation is just stuck up I asked them questions about the first gun they showed me I asked if They would recommend it. all they said was we sell them And then the second firearm, I said. I'll take it because I just wanted to get out of there And not to mention the manager Manager was training somebody and he just let him like. Breathe on my face basically everything that they saw The manager doing and saying how rude he was. They're just gonna learn from that so thanks for employing People that can't even help the younger generation learn I can't believe I asked if there was any openings cause I wanted to work there but...

Rather shop here than Walmart or Albertsons. Generally have very good sales especially when they have their case lot sales. Would of given them 5 stars but since they remodeled they don't have as many choices per product and the produce section has gone down hill slightly since COVID. Seems like they have catered to more of the rich crowd that is moving into the area by bringing in a lot more wine selection (at the cost of taking away more product selection in other areas of the store) and putting it at the front of the store which has kinda soured me as it is taking away that small town flare it once had. Still have very good deals on meat though. Store can get extremely busy especially during their case lot sales. They also have a plant nursery in the spring in the parking lot that has a huge selection of healthy plants at competitive prices.They definitely need to put in more handicap parking spaces, especially since the population has exploded in the area. They only have a few handicap parking spaces near the main door but they really need to put at a minimum one more handicap parking space at the beginning of each...
