Had a semi - decent experience here. Just a friendly FYI: take a picture from someone else's phone or video prior to you bringing your phone in. I brought an iPhone 7 in, and the screen had a crack, nothing else appeared to be wrong with the phone and the tech working clearly had felt the same due to the fact that he never mentioned anything as he held the phone, 'fixed' the phone and only made note of it till I called to ask him wth is going on w this phone? Anyways, I returned the following day to see.. can I get my money back or what, because the phone was shot, nothing was working- no camera, no flashlight, the screen was super lagging. Justin had helped us out the second day and he was honestly really kind. He hooked it up with a phone case along with some other things but the phone is still shot. We ended up buying a brand new phone. The owner gave me a call and said that in order for me to get any money [110 i paid] I had to bring back that phone case that I got for free [ since my screen can not sit on the phone] in order to get 50.00 dollars back because he said the case costs about 50 dollars.. To me that is just insane because a phone that was working fine, with a frame that never appeared to be damaged is now not working. If Nick had called us, or paid attention and never touched the phone we would have been extremely pleased. YES they cover their screens for life if it doesn't work, but it doesn't do much when you can not trust the services and don't have time to keep devoting to this foolishness. I know these guys are talented but please- just take pictures and videos of your phone because it...
Read moreMy husband was struck and killed while riding his motorcycle to work and the DPS officers said they could not find his phone. His shattered phone sat outside for three days, one in which it rained, before a friend of ours thoroughly searched the site and found it. I brought it to a ubreakifix store and they tried dehydrating it and replacing the screen but were unable to fix it. The kid literally said it would take “magic” to fix my husband’s phone and sent me home with the original, shattered screen reinstalled. I did some googling, came across the MDrepairs website, watched some of the videos, and knew if anyone can fix it MDrepairs was my best shot. I called the store, told Joe what happened, and explained how important this fix was; syncing his phone to his motorcycle camera system is the only way I knew how to extract footage and my husband did not back 5,000+ pictures/videos up to the cloud. I shipped the phone to Joe and, on the same day he received it, I got an email saying it is fixable and to approve the cost. Then, later that evening, I got an email with a photo of the phone turned on! I paid via a link Joe included in the email and he returned to me the perfectly working phone and a backup USB.
Unlike many interactions I have had during this time of immense grief, there were so many amazing things about this transaction that I knew I had to speak of it. Joe not only remembered talking with me on the phone and expedited the service but he performed “magic” on my...
Read moreMy 3-year old MacAir suddenly died one day. Just would not start up. Everything was on iCloud (I thought). Turns out, one critical financial file with a year's worth of data was not backed up. Apple could not start it and they suggested sending it to the only place they recommend for data recovery, located on the west coast. I sent it to the west coast folks. They said they would not repair it, but they could extract the data and send it to me. The cost to do that would have been more than the cost of a new computer. Called Apple support again, and eventually learned that the only hope would be finding someone who could do micro-soldering. But they cautioned that while there are many companies that say they do it, apparently, they often cannot, and if they mess it up. all data can be lost. I was eventually directed (through a repair place) to Joe at MD Repairs. He looked at the computer and said he believed he could fix it. So I took a chance. He needed to do major surgery, removing the logic board, ordering a new one, transferring data chips onto it and reinstalling it into my MacAir. Major micro-soldering. Not only did Joe recover all the data and back it up for me - he got the computer working again which I was told would never happen! I’m very appreciative. 5++ stars! If he cannot fix it, it's likely...
