I’ve been wanting to try Tatum’s table for a while, and my son who is a “diner lover” was home from school, so I figured it was a good time to try. Beautifully decorated, very clean looking yet warm decor, and very comfortable. The menu had so many great options with fabulous descriptions for breakfast and lunch I literally had to flip a coin to decide. I chose breakfast. That’s where it all went south. I ordered the Crème Brûlée French Toast with an orange juice and coffee. The orange juice came quickly. It was very dark and thick looking…it was literally “canned” orange juice. Huge red flag. How can a high end beautiful place like this with pricey items serve CANNED orange juice? It was almost brown and quite metallic tasting. I still held out hope for the breakfast. My son ordered chicken and waffles and a side order of bacon (for $6) he got 3 small limp pieces of bacon. Ehhh 4 pieces would have been nice but no big deal. The chicken and waffle ($20) wasn’t a large portion but my son liked it. And my French toast looked very rich and delicious, I realized though that it did not have any berries in it (which was in the description) so when I saw the waiter, I asked him about the berries and he said the crime brûlée French toast doesn’t come with berries, but that he could get them for me if I’d like. I said yes, I could have sworn the menu said there were berries, but yes, I asked. And he brought me berries. He brought me what appeared to be one (1) strawberry sliced very thin and a half a cup of blueberries. They were delicious and although it was small, it was Tasty. My son said “I could have sworn the menu said that came with berries”— so while we were chatting I looked at the menu and saw that it did indeed have berries in the description. So I finished my breakfast and coffee (which they did NOT offer to top off by the way) and when the waiter asked if I wanted the check I said yes and “hey you’re gonna think I’m crazy, but I looked and the French toast does come with berries after all!” He looked me straight in the eye and said ”No it doesn’t. Our menus are MIS-PRINTED and it actually doesn’t come with berries! “ huh?? Okaaaay? So that’s weird that he didn’t mention that it was misprinted when I first mentioned it… I fully expected that I was NOT going to be CHARGED for the mistake that they have on EVERY MENU and ONLINE? But there he was presenting me with a bill on the credit card device (so that I couldn’t sit and look at it) and there it was on the menu, FRUIT CUP $4.95. I gave him a 20% tip anyway and decided that I won’t be returning. I spent $70 on a breakfast where I was lied to, not accommodated for a mistake, small portions and CANNED orange juice. Really marginal breakfast, bad customer relations policy, and super expensive. So Grade A decor… grade F experience. I feel bad because it’s so close by and cute, but it’s a terrible way to run a business. I...
Read moreWords can't express what a fantastic experience we had here today. My hubby and I came here for the first time and from the minute we walked in until we paid for our food absolutely phenomenal. I found out about this place thru a Facebook group and the owner is a young lady, I had to come and support her business. The lady who checked us in the whole time she was going above and beyond making sure everything was flawless from helping waiters clearing the table, organizing the chairs, making sure all the guests were taken care of. We were seated literally not even after a 5 minute wait even though the place was packed. The food is made fresh so we were given heads up if there is a wait. There really wasn't cuz it came relatively fast. I had the avocado toast with egg and my hubby had a burger. Now, when I tell you the burger was picture perfect, it really was. Like literally how I would see an advertisement in a magazine of how food should be prepared. Here I was taking pictures of it cuz I literally never seen something so perfectly made. Now the taste. I Wolfed down my food faster than a hot dog contest. It was so good. And the Creme Brulee Latte I had with the caramelized foam, deeeelish. What I also liked, when we were done the waitress had the credit card machine right there. This is something I always see in Europe bcuz I always dislike it when they take your CC away to the back, then you have to wait like my husband during shoe shopping, lol. So, this was cool that we paid right at the table with the CC machine. I mentioned to the hostess lady what a fantastic job the owner did. And the highlight of our visit, the young lady actually came over so we got to meet Ms. Tatum. This has been the most wonderful restaurant experience for us. It was actually a week early Mothers Day lunch from my hubby cuz we don't like dealing with crowds the following Sunday. I also would like to add, the bathrooms were like walking into a mansion, from the decor, having an air freshener spray in each stall, the cute little diamond vase with the rose on the counter. My eyes were like a ceiling fan spinning soaking in the decor. Now any restaurant that cares about their bathroom you know it's a clean facility. Maybe this isn't a big deal for some but I always say it says a lot about a restaurant. Ms. Tatum, you are a genius. Your parents must be so proud of you. Its worth the 35 minute drive for us and yes, we will be back and I'm already dreaming about the Waffles...
Read moreI heard about this restaurant through a friend, and I was really excited to come try it especially to support the lovely entrepreneurial young lady who owns this restaurant. I came here on a Saturday for late brunch around 1pm. The restaurant is beautifully, intentionally, and tastefully decorated, it’s slightly feminine and floral with quirky wall art. The servers and staff are incredibly attentive and friendly with restaurant patrons as well as each other. There’s obviously a very familial and close knit relationship between the staff here, and it really makes the restaurant feel even more homey and warm.
Off the bat, I immediately noticed how many options were on the menu. There were several different drink options including various delicious sounding matcha options and unique flavors of lattes and chai. The food menu also did not disappoint- there is truly something for everyone! Whether you are a sweet pancake/waffle lover, omelette aficianado, or prefer a more healthy option, there really are endless and unique choices for both breakfast and lunch. Ultimately, I chose the french onion soup sandwich, and I was very happy with my choice. I’ve never had french onion soup in sandwich form, and I now don’t know if I can go back to having it just as a soup! The sandwich was delicious with the savory flavor of the caramelized onion in contrast with the punchy cheese and tender beef.
Overall, I’m really happy I got to check out this amazing little local gem, and I’m excited to be able to come back and explore more of the menu! At 1pm on a Saturday, it was entirely busy and bustling and I can really see why! I’d definitely recommend this place for brunch with some friends or even family lunch! Wishing the best for Tatum and her...
