"A Day of Fun at Play Pad: A Philly Parent's Perspective"
As a parent who is always on the lookout for engaging and safe spaces for my little ones to play, I recently took the plunge and drove 40 minutes from Philadelphia to check out Play Pad. Let me tell you, it was absolutely worth the drive! I've explored many play spaces in Philly, including popular spots like Nest, Kith and Kin, and others, and Play Pad stands shoulder to shoulder with these greats.
What sets Play Pad apart? First off, the big slides are a major hit. It's not every day you find a play space that caters so effectively to all ages, and Play Pad nails this aspect. My nearly three-year-old was completely taken with the variety of options and games available. The place wasn't packed, which is always a plus, allowing kids to play freely without it feeling overwhelming.
Parking is a breeze, with tons of free spots right in front of the venue. And the pricing? Super reasonable at $16 for an all-day pass. This means you can really settle in and make a day of it without feeling rushed.
A big win for me as a parent was the layout and amenities. Play Pad boasts a large kitchen area, and they're totally cool with you bringing your own food. This came in handy, especially with a Chick-fil-A nearby - I could easily bring in food, watch my little guy play, and not worry about losing sight of him. The space is thoughtfully designed with a single, secure entrance, and an open layout that allows you to see your child from almost anywhere in the room.
In summary, Play Pad is a top-notch choice for parents looking for a fun, safe, and affordable play space. Its thoughtful design, great facilities, and the range of activities make it a standout. Highly recommended for those in and around Philly, or for anyone willing to make a bit of a drive for a...

It made it unsafe as they were on the stairs and the slides. None of the themed toys were in their area. My 12 month old couldn't do anything without me having to clear a literal path of toys. I spent some time cleaning up myself but it was insane and I didn't even know where to start. The baby area was also completely trashed. A kid took a grocery cart to the top of the slide and threw it down, narrowly missing my child. A parent was playing ring toss with the giant connect 4. Tossing the discs all over the place and then just leaving them on the floor. There is no supervision at all. The staff were nice but sat up at the front the whole time. We were there over 3 hours and didn't see them until 30 minutes before closing when they came in to pick up so they could close. I wish I had taken pictures. We went yesterday and surprise surprise, both of my kids are coughing tonight. I personally feel as though the staff should pop in every hour to pick up so things don't get so out of control, and to make sure rules are being followed. Also, to SANITIZE a little. When the staff cleaned up, there were no wipes or anything, they just put the items away. I went on a busy day, so I understand it can be crazy with multiple kids, but that's more reason for the staff need to be present. My kids still had fun and the place is very cute but I wouldn't recommend going on a weekend or holiday and i'd bring a bucket of lysol spray and maybe a hazmat suit so no...
Read moreMy husband and I took our 2 year old daughter for the first time today. We were excited to go but our excitement slowly became disappointment. When we first entered, the staff hardly acknowledged us, were not very pleasant or welcoming. I almost felt like we weren't supposed to be there. The area where you take off your shoes and coats was dirty, the floor was very wet. The play room has a lot of potential. The set up is really great except it could use a slide for younger than 4 year Olds. Toys were everywhere, I mean everywhere. Also along with toys everywhere were pieces of styrofoam from a floral piece attached to the playhouse. We found dirty tissues and bandaids. There were alot of broken toys. We stayed about 45 minutes and then left. I would be happy to pay the 16 dollars for free play if the facility was better maintained as well as cleaned. From the look of things, I don't think the play area was cleaned recently at all. Not to mention the danger of the styrofoam everywhere.I understand how children can be with toys but there could be more supervision in the playroom. More friendly staff as well. We do not plan on going back...
