Be advised about their tipping policy before you go! The massage was good, not excellent. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse, but evidently my 20% tip wasn’t good enough. The masseuse seemed very upset by the amount I gave her, and kept pointing to a sign on the wall (which I didn’t see until after I had given her the tip) of what I guess the establishment deems what an appropriate tip should be, which is over 20%. Even if I saw the sign before the session started, it wouldn’t have made a difference, as I tip based on my own personal experience, not by a sign on the wall. When I arrived for my appointment, I was taken directly to a room by a very nice lady at the front desk, and the room was clean. There isn’t a door, but a curtain, and the walls don’t go all the way to the ceiling, so anything outside of the room can be heard. There is soft music playing overhead, but I was the only customer in the facility, so I know the voices I heard were from other employees talking to each other, which was very distracting. Up until, what felt like a confrontation with me about the amount of the tip at the end when I was getting ready to leave, I was thinking of returning to try a reflexology session. That isn’t going to happen, and I can’t and won’t recommend Union Square Foot and Body Works to anyone. Maybe management needs to inform the employees to be more gracious and accept the gratuity that is given in a more respectful manner. Also, when I went to pay with my credit card (which they say that they accept on their website) I was pointed to the ATM that they have in the front waiting area. I guess that they don’t accept credit cards, only cash.
This is an update from my initial review in regards to the "response from the owner" that had been sent.
To the owner of Union Square Foot Body Massage, Thank you for your response to my review, as it appears that you have addressed some of my concerns. I would like to point out two things that may not have been conveyed to you properly from the employees that I mentioned in my review. Firstly, I had tipped the masseuse in cash as I approached the front desk before even paying my bill, so there couldn’t have been an issue or misunderstanding with trying to leave the tip on a credit card. Secondly, when I asked the man at the front desk if credit cards were accepted to pay my bill, he didn’t answer me, he just pointed to the ATM, so I took that as a no, and if I didn’t have cash on me, I would have to get cash...
Read moreBottom line, my cardiologist highly recommended this incredible place to us after learning I had an ankle injury that just would not heal. I had sports doctors, endless PT, braces, etc. it never improved. The cardiologist had broken his ankle and also could never get rid of the pain. One day his wife insisted he try Foot and Body, he did and never had pain again. Very nervous and highly skeptical my wife took me there. She is an Ironman triathlete and often has massage and cupping. So, I went in. Immediately I thought "What in the heck is this place?" Grace massaged my very painful ankle and the bottom line I HAVE NEVER HAD PAIN AGAIN.
I also suffered from terrible lower back pain with several herniated discs. It was crippling me. I went back, had several massages and cupping and have never had pain again. That is a fact.
I winter in Florida. I have never found a place that has given me the results of Foot and Body, nor has my wife. We are sold out on Jane and her team.
Regarding any negative reviews, why not discuss it with Jane face to face? The negative reviews I read say more about the poster than the establishment. Why? Because I personally experienced something very different and nothing compares.
Since our weekly visits we have referred family, friends, colleagues, and patients to Jane and Foot and Body and they love it. I have never heard negative feedback once and they tell their friends.
Go to Foot and Body, ask for the owner Jane and tell her Marti referred you and highly recommend FAB. You will thank me.
Still going to Foot and Body after several years and have never experienced anything but great service and professionalism. I appreciate the owner Jane and her massage therapists very much. They are talented, respectful, always happy to see you, and very grateful for...
Read moreTHE BEST MASSAGE EVER!! I found Union Square Foot Body Massage on a web search. I read the reviews on the website and was pleased that customers had nice comment. I have had numerous massages in the past and am very picky. I have no tolerance for dirty environments. They were polite and courteous over the phone when I explained that this deep-tissue massage would be a birthday gift for my husband.
We were greeted by a pleasant and professional woman at the front desk. She asked my husband what type of oil he would like for his massage. The place was clean and had no smell. They played soft meditation-type music in the background. There were plenty of clean and "Lilly White" towels available for guests.
I decided on a one hour reflexology treatment. My appointment began with a neck, shoulder, arm, hand and back massage. I did not expect that. These additional treatments helped me further enjoy my foot massage. This was undoubtedly the BEST massage that I ever had. The hosts were kind, polite, and respectful. I plan, not only to re-visit soon, but to make these massage treatments a part of my regular...
