DO NOT BUY FROM HAVERTY'S!! I've given a brief summary of the problems we've experienced in dealing with them.
Timeline of events: 9/12 - Purchased $6000 of furniture and was told it would be delivered in 5-8 weeks (meaning 11/14 at the latest, in time for the holidays). 10/27 - Hadn't heard anything from Haverty's for 6 wks so I called and was told that my representative should've been in touch with me the whole time. One of the managers later called and told me that it was now going to be potentially the middle of January before I get all of my pieces but that she would personally email me every week with updates. 11/6 - Next email update (10 days since last) 11/27 - Next email update (3 wks since last) 12/11 - So far only 1 piece of furniture, a bed, has been delivered. I'm supposed to get the rest of the bedroom set tomorrow and the last piece of my furniture still has an unknown ETA.
They blamed the delays on higher than expected business during Covid, which I understand. It is frustrating, but I assume there is little they could actually do about that. My problem is the lack of consistent communication, even when a manager said they would do better. Should I ever have to employ the protection plan that we purchased, I question whether they would respond in a timely manner. The bed is good and we were happy with the rest of the furniture when we bought it but I would've liked to have been informed of any and all changes with the order in a timely manner given the amount of money we paid 3 months ago.
UPDATE: It’s January 12 and I still don’t have my last piece of furniture but I did finally get an email saying I might get it in February. We’re currently at four months and counting since I paid them and I have yet to get all my furniture.
Second UPDATE: Still don't have all the correct pieces from my order. The opposite version of the sectional we ordered was delivered maybe back in February; it's been so long, I don't really remember. Now, in the end of July, nearly 11 months after we originally ordered it, I get an email saying the expected delivery window for the correct pieces from my order might get...
Read moreTerrible quality furniture and they don’t stand behind their warranty. We purchased a leather sectional sofa for over $3,000. Then we bought the best extended warranty they had. The 5 year warranty that repairs everything or replaces. What they didn’t tell us is that it’s only good in Texas. After we moved to Colorado. The reclining mechanisms stopped working. They sent a repair person out, and he got it working again, however, a few month later it stopped working again. Then warranty company said they no longer carried parts for the sofa which at that time was about 2 years old. They said it needed to be replaced. It no longer reclines and the headrests are stuck in uncomfortable positions. When I spoke to the manager at Havertys in Midland, where we made our our purchase , she said we had to drive the old broken sections back to them and then we could get it replaced but they would not ship to us. She said she couldn’t believe there were not parts and was going to get back to me after calling the warranty company but it was during COvid and she never did. I went back and forth between the manager and the warranty company for nearly a year and finally just gave up. This furniture should have lasted many years, but less Than 3 years and it all need to be thrown out. So- buyer beware. We paid $500 extra for this warranty that they would not stand by. Read moreI’ve known about Havertys my entire life. I mean I’ve seen the building and heard about it, but I’ve never gone in. I don’t know why. I first saw an ad for Havertys on Pinterest. I was impressed with what I saw and decided to go in. The minute I walked in the front door I knew I was going to like it. I was very impressed with the inventory. From the furniture to all the accessories available. The service was excellent. I know what I need, I just need help picking out the right pieces. The sales person who helped me was Cyndee Aranda. I’m really not the type of person who writes reviews, but I was so impressed with the whole experience I wanted to make a special effort to let someone know how impressed I was.
