I was a frequent shopper of the Big Y, Going back 10 years ago when I worked in Norwood Ma, I would stop @ the Walpole Store on my way home, I was then happy to see a store open in Franklin Ma. (Closer to my home) Last week Friend mentioned the Milford Store was having a promotion with Danny Amendola of the New England Patriots & he would be signing Autographs for fans. We decided to get there early because we knew there would be a big turn out. We arrived at 10am & got in line knowing each person was allowed 1 autograph we were confident the line would move along & we would eventually get our chance to meet Danny & get our Autograph. Unfortunately the Big Y Staff along with whoever was in charge of the promotion had no idea whatsoever of how to maintain control of a large promotion & have customers stick to the rules that were stated & put in place so everyone had a fair chance at an autograph! Selfish & Greedy fans were allowed to present bags full of merchandise to get multiple autographs each, others were allowed to simply walk up to the front of the line & hand there item over to be signed without waiting in line for hours like the rest of us, Finally after waiting patiently from 10a.m. A representative came out to tell us āThank You for Commingā you can go home now there will be no more signings! If they simply handled the situation like many other promotions I have been to & enforce 1 autograph per person, everyone would had a fair chance. Instead they simply ran a āFREE FOR ALLā and Disappointed a lot of loyal customers! Iām not upset by not getting an autograph Iām disappointed at the way it was handled, for that I will never shop another Big Y...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei went there the other night to buy some cream (which they didnāt have, o well) and i brought my service dog in. heās a medium sized coonhound, quiet and friendly, never barks(literally at anything lol) or growls, nothing.. best dog in the worldš.. and on my way in i was confronted by the first check out lane near the left side, near the produce. it was some weird lady in a knee down air cast who i assume was the front end manager. we walked in and she said loudly āexcuse me sir, is that a service dog?!ā and i said yes and kept it moving(heās marked appropriately). as i was making my way to the creamer she was following me and kept asking āsir are you sure he is?!ā.. again i said yes.. and under my breath i was saying āpretty sure its illegal to keep asking and following me aroundā you kno, HIPPA stuffš¤·š»āāļøš¤¦š»āāļø. so making my way over is stop and browse and she would be about 15-20ā away from me stopping when i did and would mess around with whatever is on the shelf. so my whole experience there was her following me around all the way up to the exit door as i left.. so, iāll NEVER return to that store for anything as her behavior was very inappropriate, even my dog was getting anxious about her being around us, very weird vibes coming from her. so my advice to anyone else lucky enough to have a service dog would be to not shop at that store or if you do, plan on having a confrontation with this person. DEFINITELY a one star rating for this place, it was my first time there and the only thing i got was this weird experience.. 4 thumbs down...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat can I say? I have had the strangest encounters with employees at this store. Everything from aggressive employees screaming profanities in the parking lot, to being stared down by the clerk at self check out, to being accused of taking $20 from a cashier after SHE messed up my order, which I did NOT. I kept going back because it was the closest store to my house. But after being accused by some child manager and not getting an apology after asking to see the video (he did not let me see the video) and then said he could be wrong because he didn't really pay attention. All of this was wrong and humiliating, so I decided that that was the last visit to this store for me. I have never been to another Big Y store, but I definitely do not recommend this...
