The service is incredible here. Everyone is very friendly and approachable, willing to bend over backwards to make an otherwise horrible and expensive dining experience pleasant.
I haven't been to IHOP in 10 years and this new one in Milford was its chance for redemption. See above for TL;DR.
I ordered the breakfast sampler. Two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, two ham, two pancakes and hash browns. Allow me to break this down, if you please and keep in mind that meals are subjective. What was horrible to me may be your breakfast dream.
Eggs covered in grease were the first to come to my eyes. They were cooked just like I asked, over-medium that is.. not grease-coated. My eyes move immediately to the block of hash browns, like literally a perfectly measured 3" x 4" x 1/2" brick of potatoes browned on either side. So far tastes fine, nothing special but not awful. Moving to meat.
The ham was dry but it's two quarters of a 1/4" thick slice of ham. Whatever. The sausage links were shriveled or they came out of the package the size of a 12 year old's pinky finger. They may have been that - not sure as I've never eaten pinky finger before. The bacon was practically inedible for the salt content but I toughed it out cuz I'm a trooper, lol.
Ok, pancakes. International house thereof. Undercooked jacks of flap that had a pre-determined depression built in for a wad of futter, fake butter, covered in as much of four identical tasting non-maple syrups as i could gradually pour out of a controlled drip container.
So, subjective right. So far it's a 3/5. Then, I remember that my meal is $12.29 ... American dollars and my coffee is $3! Credit to my awesome server again for giving me a cup to go.
Why didn't you complain, people will ask? Well breakfast is subjective and I strongly suspect this is their normal. Well, it's not my normal for $16 - not anywhere but I can't and don't expect IHOP to change for me.
All i can do is share my experience and let you decide. Thanks for reading. See you...
Read moreTook about 45 minutes after being seated for 3 drinks. Additional 30 minutes for food which was half cold/hot and waffles we super hard. Staff is very unprofessional and immature. As we waited to pay our bill to leave our waitress didn't return for additional 20 minutes (keep tabs at this point). So we paid at the counter, which she intercepted us and as we were waiting the hostess says she doesn't like to be " stared at ". I didn't realize it was directed to me which i had no idea what the girl was talking about because she was behind/off to the left of me. Never made eye contact until i realized it was towards me and i corrected them and said i had no intentions to stare at her or was i, just simply watching the waitress do the card transaction. The hostess laughs and says "yea right" and begins talking about my family. My wife said some words and we left. Hate leaving negative reviews but this IHOP should be embarrassed and staff should...
Read moreI dined with a group of friends at this location 3/9/2020 around 7 pm. We were horrified to find out there literally was only one waitress on the clock that night. No manager or hostess to be found. There were at least 5 tables occupied, a few with larger groups. Our waitress Stephanie was outstanding and worked very hard the entire time to ensure everyone was happy and taken care of. She had a positive attitude despite the unprofessional situation she was put in due to the lack of staff. The food was great except for the fact one of the meals we ordered was not cooked properly. The chicken was very raw to say the least. Of course this was not our waitress's fault whatsoever. Overall we were very disappointed in this location and Stephanie being the only other person there besides the cook was highly unsettling. Once again thank you so much Stephanie for your hard work and taking such good care of our table. 5 stars for...
