Disclaimer⦠This rating is not based on the company or previous experiences. Prior to 6/29/24 this was our go to movie theater. And a 5 star rating. For those who go here I hope you have a great experience, and enjoy your movie. My only concern is with the manager and how he treats his customers.
On 6/29/24 I got off at 9:15, had the family with me and decided to go see inside out which started at 9:20. We got there a little late so the kids and dad went to sit down and I got popcorn, etc.
Iām told someoneās in our seats so we sat somewhere else. Iāve missed a decent amount of the beginning however everyone has their drinks and popcorn and we are enjoying the movie. About 20 minutes later Anthony White (manager) comes up to us with an attitude asking why are we sitting here these arenāt our seats. I said someones in our seats so we sat here and the lady to my right said āsomeone was in our seats thatās why we moved over here.ā Mr. White asked to see our tickets, located the seats we paid for, and Iām assuming told them to move, he then came over to us and told us to sit in our seats. We get up, and go to our seats. There is a spilled drink on the table/ chair so I told Mr. White we will just sit in the row in front of us ( the whole row is empty, itās been about 30 mins now I double these seats belong to anyone.) A few minutes later Anthony comes back with an employee, shows him the spot and the other employee starts to clean it up. (Even his interaction with the his employee is very rude and arrogant.) He comes over to us and said you need to move, I mention to him I can see those seats are still dirty/ wet, Iāve already moved my family once, no one paid for these nosebleed seat that no one wants to sit at, whatās the issue. He said I need to sit in the seats I paid for, and that I need to get up and move or else. Mr. Anthony White is being very rude and loud, mind you we are in a movie theater.. in the middle of a movie, youāre not only being rude but interrupting the movie for everyone in that theater and itās a kids movie about feelings. I told him Iām not moving, and he says āyou will move and have one minute to do soā I remind him the seats are dirty Iāve already moved like he asked what is the big deal and that Iām not moving. He slams his hands on the tray table and says āokayā very loud.
My boyfriend stands up and says there is no need to talk to a woman that way and I grab him and say donāt even worry about it.
I am exhausted, just want the kids to enjoy the movie and to finally relax Iāve been in the sun all day working just wanted to have a family movie night with the 3 kiddos.
A couple minutes later my boyfriend said Iām going to make a complaint on him and talk to the manager. He goes out to ask where Mr. Anthony white is and a lady said I am the manager and so is the gentleman you were talking to, and he told her well I want to make a complaint on him for how he treated us in the movies. She said okay Iāll go get him and after a few minutes he came back to sit down since Anthony did not come out.
About 5 minutes later two cops come up to us and ask us to leave. We mentioned what happen and the cop said that Mr. Anthony told them that we wanted to fight him. Never did we say any of them, never did we curse or think any of this should escalate further than a conversation. We asked for his name to file the complaint and thatās when the other manager said his name is Anthony White. We also asked for a refund and the cop mentioned he could not give us a refund but gave us the business email to tell the owner how our night went.
We accidentally left our keys in the theater so first an employee went to look for them, couldnāt find them so then a police officer went to search for them.
Our kids were not able to see the movie, and it was ruined for all the other guest who paid to watch it/ have family night over something so small that could have been prevented.
I do not think Anthony White should be a manager for Movies 9 and if I was the owner I would be embarrassed if that was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThree stars for two reasons: To get your attention The main reason, your climate control.
I have been attending your venue since opening day. Since I have watched 1 movie potter month at least, sometimes 2 to 4 per month. Somewhere along the line, it's like your venue was trying to drastically cut costs by not utilizing air conditioning. Over the last year (at least, maybe more) I have sweated throughout the movie.
The first time I emailed the venue directly while sitting in the movie. The theater cooled down within minutes, with a response email telling me to "please just inform staff next time".
Then for 20+ movies afterwards, I again would sweat. And no, I did not have the seat warmer on. I would leave the movie and tell a staff member but nothing would change. So, I just sit there sweating for 1.5 hours or more.
Many people's philosophy on the matter is that it's better to have cold customers than hot customers. That is because, someone who is cold can always take measures to warm up. They could wear layers, bring a blanket (which people do bring to movies), and also they could utilize your seat warming feature.
A customer who is hot and sweating could be (please excuse the visual) naked and still sweating.
Your venue is probably second best in the state. Only second to Penn Cinema in Wilmington. However, unless it's a movie that should be seen in IMAX, I have patroned your theater.
However, I have not patroned your venue in months due to the fact that I sweat through the entire movie.
Please, do something about this. Because everything is awesome about your venue from buying tickets to, concessions, to cleanliness, to seat comfort, to the sound systems, to the screens, etc. Everything is awesome. Except this one thing, it's not enough though for me to be willing to sweat for an 1.5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYesterday was our first time visiting this theater; our movie was scheduled for 3:30 pm. Where was the manager on this day? First impression upon entering the lobby was very disappointing š There was popcorn strewn all about the floor of the lobby and in front of the concession stand. There were 4 to 5 teenage employees who grouped themselves together in one corner of the concession stand, laughing and carrying on as if they were at party, oblivious to the customers. These kids have no clue what good customer service is, nor do they seem to care. Needless to say, I was not enticed to purchase any snacks when the employees behaved as if they wanted to be anywhere else but at work. I will say, the movie was enjoyable, our seats were comfortable and the theater we were assigned to was clean. After our movie ended and we exited the lobby area, the popcorn was still laying all over the floor in addition to now several used napkins also strewn about. To have that many employees just sitting or standing around, doing nothing, someone should at least sweep the floor on an hourly basis. I observed these employees simply ignoring and walking past the debris. In addition, upon our leaving the theater, there was an intense smell of burned popcorn and the lobby was covered in a smoky haze....hmmmm, a result of employees inattentive to their assigned tasks? I acknowledge that theatergoers and their kids are filthy when they leave their food and trash everywhere, only for the employees to have to clean up the aftermath of dirty patrons, it is still up to the establishment to maintain a clean and inviting environment. And to those inconsiderate theatergoers who purposely leave their garbage and debris behind for others to clean up, shame on you....have some decency and toss your own trash in the can...
