Let me start by saying buyer beware, in most cases the Suprenant family owners of Katahdin True Value feel the need to charge you the consumer 50% and in some cases 60% markup on there products. These are also the owners of Chester Fried in Millinocket which by the way is over priced. Hannaford chicken has them beat at a fraction of cost. These are also the owners of Abol and Ice cream shop in town, which once again way overpriced. They find the need to criticize all the people in this town talk down on them they even have mentioned that most of the residents here are dumb. I feel that is inappropriate as you continue to go on and over charge people of this community, this is a town that is distressed and most are on a fixed income. As employers they like to put alot of responsibility on the employees in most cases run there establishments for them with very little compensation in most cases minimum wage. In my opinion I found them to be untrustworthy, and not loyal,to any one in this community. In fact they only care about themselves.
SAD!!! The sadness is the number of former employees in both businesses, you have gone through in your first year of business!! In my opinion that says it all about you as business owners. Not to mention traffic flow in both establishments you people own. Apparently the people of this community know the real truth just ask around, no FAKE NEWS...

I DO NOT TYPICALLY leave reviews but this time I feel its APPROPRIATE!!!
I find it mighty IRONIC for you to say Louis couldn't show up for work when he already had his hours reduced !!!!! If the so called owner was running True Value he would have seen that Louis opened and closed your store, took payments and applied them to accounts, helped do ordering, dealt with customers, stocked shelves, not to mention took WORK RELATED CALLS AFTER HOURS , all for $12 an hour. On multiple occasions he stood there and took the brunt as customers complained about YOUR prices and YOU LUISA AS AN INDIVIDUAL on a daily basis, not only for your hardware store but also for Chester's chicken. He was also THERE FOR YOU when you all went on vacation, had Emergency situations, and needed someone to open and close. At $12 an hour I don't think he missed too much time and if he did he requested to make up the time. HOW CAN ANYONE AFFORD TO LOSE PAY AT $12 AN HOUR ??
If I could leave zero stars I would, but I have...
Read moreI find this store consistently overpriced. The exact same items can often be found for 40-50% less up the hill at Sterns, or at Crandallâs in East Millinocket, which is worth the drive if youâre spending more than a couple bucks. Service is not always great. I just left here to go buy $200 of paint elsewhere, because I was told they âwouldnât have time to get to it today.â Not really sure what that meant (If you cant serve a customer, why are you open?), and they didnât elaborate. Nobody else was in the store. Whatever, I have no problem spending elsewhere. They have a decent inventory for a small store, but if youâre buying anything more than something minor for the convenience, its worth going...
