We've eaten twice now at the Appalachian Trail Cafe. I had the BBQ Burnt Ends Mac N Cheese the first time and the Corned Beef Hash with Eggs this time. Both meals were outstanding.

Mac-n-cheese with bbq pork bits in it is a no-brainer. How can that be bad? To be fair, I can imagine a few ways it could go wrong, but this place does it perfectly.

And the corned beef hash, which is real corned beef kinda ground up served alongside smashed up tater tots and two eggs, was among the best I've ever had, and I try it everywhere I go. This is true, despite my being, for the most part, a vegetarian. But it's tough when dining out north of southern Maine, and I do enjoy a good corned beef hash, not to mention pork bbq.

Anyway, the point is this: If you're in Millinocket and looking for something to eat before 2pm, go to the...

Great breakfast at the AT Cafe! we went for breakfast both yesterday and today. The ownership has recently changed, but this was my first time here, so I cannot comment on the cafe as ran by the prior owners.

The staff was super friendly and attentive, made sure we had everything we wanted.

I ordered the Corned Beef Hash special the first day, and the Millinocket Scramble the second day. Corned beef hash was made from scratch, super tasty. was excellent with the poached eggs I ordered (2 eggs your way are part of the meal). coffee was really tasty, and the wheat bread was hearty and tasty with their strawberry jelly.

the scramble was great - bacon, mushrooms, cheese, and I think onions. delicious.

home fries were cooked very well.

I will definitely be making AT Cafe a regular stop this...

If you're looking for good, classic breakfast food, this is a great spot. The place was very busy, but we didn't wait long to find a seat. I chose an omelet which was packed with veggies and cheese. The homefries were also tasty as well as the homemade English muffin. The servers were focused and friendly. They seemed to know many customers on a first name basis. The surroundings will keep you entertained while you wait for your order. The ceiling is covered with the trail names of hikers that have hung out there. There's a wall with an array of nature photos, a little nook with a woodsman painting, and plenty of wall hanging with...

While staying at Big Moose Inn, we wanted to have breakfast in town and we saw that this location had a good rating. It was decorated nicely with lots of art work on the walls. Our waitress was Leah. I ordered the special, Egg Benedict ($15), which came with tots and my wife ordered the Abol omelet ($15) which was 3 eggs stuffed w/ feta, spinach, Kalamata olives, roasted red pepper & Scallion served w/ toast (she got the homemade English muffin) and tots. The food was very good and hit the spot. Leah did a great job (even brewed a fresh pot of decaf for my wife), and if we are ever in the area again, we will return.

This place us as authentic as it gets. A true taste of Maine from the homemade molasses donuts to the blueberry pies! Everything is authentic old world Maine here! I especially like their vegetarian choices, and very much enjoyed their bean and cheese burrito. But everything here is amazing it's to die for! They allow the people who walked the Appalachian Trail to sign their ceiling tiles which is wicked cute. They have a super duper big ice cream sundae which if you eat all of it, you get a prize. This is a must try Restaurant for that Maine experience!

I am so in love with this Mexican food transition!! Asher created a menu with something for everyone. I am so grateful Appalachian Trail Cafe brought something different locally for all of us to enjoy. So far, I love the chicken quesadilla, roasted corn salad, carne asada fries, and west coast burrito. I eat here a minimum of once a week and have tried at least a bite of almost EVERYTHING! There are a couple things I’m looking forward to trying soon. Also, can we make your Boston cream donuts a permanent Sunday doughnut?! Seriously!!
