Makeup by June – Phenomenal!

I cannot speak highly enough about Love Notes by June. June and her team were exceptional from start to finish and I recommend her to anyone looking for a true professional that is organized, experienced, and talented.

I found June through instagram about a year prior to my wedding. I was living in California and planning a Boston wedding so I did most research for hair and makeup vendors via social media. When I found Love Notes by June on insta, I was immediately impressed; the photos featured elegant and natural makeup as well as a wide range of equally lovely and intricate hairstyles. June’s response to my preliminary inquiry was to the point and informative, which immediately indicated that she was a credible professional who expected the same from her clientele.

On my wedding day, June was nothing short of exemplary. She perfectly executed the bridal makeup that I had envisioned and we had finessed during the trial. Importantly, I was deadest on maintaining a natural look with nude shades and avoiding a heavy makeup look. June was right on-point, the completed look enhanced and highlighted my natural features while still covering my imperfections (in particular, she was able to perfectly conceal pigmentation irregularities without loading on foundation, etc.). For bridal hair, I opted for simple, loose curls (I have long, super straight hair) and was very pleased that the style held up for the vast majority of the night (whereas typically, any curls fall within 30 minutes).

In addition, there were a total of 13 women getting hair and makeup done on my wedding day so I was so relieved when June arrived on time, armed with five skilled stylists who were professional and efficient. June’s team was able to accommodate a wide variety of bridal party requests for hairstyles ranging from traditional/natural to complicated up dos. Hair and makeup for all 13 ladies looked fabulous and was completed with 15 minutes to spare.

In sum, I was thrilled with Love Notes byy June, from the seamless handling of logistics and execution to the fabulous final bridal and bridal party styling on my wedding day. June was without a doubt worth every penny and I recommend her without hesitation for any bridal/special event hair and makeup services...

June was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding in September, 2022 and she was an absolute pleasure to work with!!! Starting from my initial inquiry with her, to the bridal hair and makeup trial, to the actual wedding day, she made everything so easy and stress-free. June made me feel very confident that hair and makeup was NOT something I was going to have to worry about on my wedding day. During the bridal trial, I had a specific vision of what I wanted for my hair but wanted some advice from her regarding my makeup look. It was very clear that June had a ton of expert experience curating gorgeous wedding day looks from the suggestions she gave and how she explained everything she was doing!! She made me feel very comfortable and created such a beautiful make-up look that was natural but still enhanced my features and it was absolutely perfect. On my actual wedding day, June and her team were punctual and were so fun to work with! They helped make the morning of my wedding so memorable because they were so kind and had great conversation with all my bridesmaids and my mother/MIL!! Additionally, my mother does not typically wear makeup and she can be a little picky about how her hair and makeup are done but June and her team absolutely nailed it. My mom was so thrilled and afterward she joked that she needed June in her every day life hahah. Additionally, my natural hair type is very straight and fine but I wanted more volume for the wedding hairstyle I had in mind. June was so patient and helpful giving me suggestions on different ways we could accomplish the look. She ended up adding in some extensions from a brand she recommended and it was flawless. The extensions seamlessly blended into my hair to the point that even some of my bridesmaids were surprised I had in some extensions! As a bride, you want to feel beautiful and confident on your wedding day and June helped me accomplish that. I felt absolutely ethereal and both my hair and makeup lasted all night long!! Choosing to work with June was one of the best wedding planning decisions I made, I would hire her 10 out of 10 times again if I could!! Thank you...

I had booked June for my wedding. Originally, I was very excited because of her high reviews but that feeling of excitement quickly disappeared as soon as I signed the contract. Once the contract was signed, June had reached out to me saying that I needed to pay for more money. I had to call her to figure out why; to only find out that she had made an error and wanted me to pay for it. If I had not stood up for myself, I think she would have made me paid for her error.

On the day of the wedding, June clearly does not know what good customer service is. Due to her poor planning and management, I had missed out on ALL of my getting ready photos AND my sister (MoH) make up was not done at the time of departure. The entire getting ready process was chaotic (which June says that it is supposed to be like this) and mismanaged. I do not blame her HMUA team since June was not there but June herself as she wrote out the schedule (which now looking back at it was not realistic).

The worst part about this is when I brought up my issues with June, she was very defensive and dismissive about my experience and perspective. When I had told her that I would need my bridesmaid to be included in the conversation, who had better idea of timing/the situation, June just completely ignored her. The customer service experience I got from June felt like a big giant F U. She had told us that she had a very good idea of what happened onsite even though she was not present. For someone in the service industry, this is so infuriating!! On top of it all, instead of owning her own mistake June takes it out on her team. Her team was not allowed to take any tips which is WILD.

If you want a vendor who is understanding of a stressful situation, a vendor you can trust, and a vendor who is an expert in this field then DO...
