First time ever writing a review for a restaurant experience so it is obvious that I, with my party, were pleasantly moved! We were celebrating a birthday party for my wife and my brother-in-law that shared a birthday on December 18th, 17 years apart! My brother-in-law brought an employee to Abby Park for a "goodbye lunch" as she was relocating and thought a dinner celebration there would be divine for his family.....and he couldn't have been more correct! Our reservation was for 6PM on December 21st and we walked in without any wait! We were blessed to have Joanna as our waitress as she couldn't have been any friendlier or more personable (seemed like this was typical of the waitstaff near us) and still maintained a professional and knowledgeable manner. Our drinks, hot coffee (freshly brewed) and iced cold water came promptly without hesitation! The food and the restaurant is comparable to any of the fine dining experiences throughout Rhode Island of which there are many (my wife and I live in Rhode island) and it was certainly worth the drive! The entrees were excellent, beautifully presented and the right portion (we had just enough room for the delicious offerings of dessert following). The entrees included a peppered steak au poivre on a bed of grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes, grilled Kobe meatloaf that was a tremendous value and very plentiful! It came with the garlic mashed potatoes and roasted portobello mushrooms. The seafood entree were succulent seared sea scallops on a bed of lobster risotto. Very tasty and just enough for a big eater! Joanna took our word that we were celebrating 2 birthdays and came out with a huge piece of Chocolate Lava cake (it was so rich and yummy!) and an unusual selection, the French Macaroons - very different from American! This had to be one of our most enjoyable birthday night-outs ever and I couldn't thank the general manager enough for the quality of the food, the service and the experience. If this is what can be done after only 4 years in business, Milton MA has a reliable and a superb dining venue at Abby Park for years to come. I can't wait to book our next birthday party there next year! Harry Waterman, East Greenwich,...
Read moreNestled in the heart of Milton, Abby Park is a refined yet cozy gem that exemplifies everything you want in a dining experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was embraced by a warmly lit ambiance and the soft murmur of happy diners enjoying their evening. The staff here deserve their own spotlight; attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu, and incredibly welcoming. They have mastered that perfect balance of attentiveness, timing each interaction with natural ease. Yet, as stellar as the overall experience was, nothing could prepare me for the star of the night—the cinnamon bread pudding.
This dessert is nothing short of a masterpiece. Picture a warm, melt-in-your-mouth brioche soaked in a luscious cinnamon custard, the kind of flavors that make you close your eyes with the first bite. It arrives in a generous portion, beautifully plated, with a drizzle of caramel cascading down the edges, and the faintest hint of cinnamon wafting up to meet you. The pudding itself has the ideal texture: slightly crisp on top, with the caramelization giving way to a silky, warm center that tastes like a hug on a chilly night. Each bite is infused with a rich, buttery essence balanced perfectly by the warmth of the cinnamon—a flavor that feels nostalgic and comforting.
And as if it wasn’t decadent enough, Abby Park pairs this bread pudding with a scoop of perfectly smooth vanilla bean ice cream. The cold cream against the warm, spiced bread pudding is absolute perfection—a duet of textures and temperatures that could make you believe in dessert as an art form. As the ice cream starts to melt, it forms this creamy river around the bread pudding, adding another layer of indulgence to each bite.
It’s rare for a single dish to steal the show so completely, but this cinnamon bread pudding was the epitome of what every dessert aspires to be. It wasn’t just delicious—it was memorable. The flavor lingers long after the last bite, a gentle reminder that you’ll be back to Abby Park sooner than you think, craving that warmth and flavor...
Read moreSo, we are residents of the town and have had several opportunities to eat at Abby Park. It is always consistently good. The chef (Tony) routinely outdoes himself when AP has wine (or even once, Scotch) dinners. He very cleverly pairs the food with the wines to bring out the best in both.
Last night (Father's Day) really blew us away.
The meal: Husband had the lamb...succulent, juicy, with the perfect level of crisp on the edges. The soft pillowiness of the Artichoke potato cake served as a lovely backdrop, while the tomato black olive salad acted as a bright counterpoint. I had the pork chop, a large hoisin glazed bit of heaven served with the backdrop of a mashed potato made brilliant with a touch of hoison, and the lovely sweetness of maple black beans. The refreshing red slaw was the perfect accompaniment
As good as the meal was, and it was VERY VERY good, it was made even better by the people that were involved.
Jeffrey, the host/manager/sommelier always makes us feel welcome. Jeffrey goes the extra step and makes us feel special!. His wine recommendation was spot on, and the dessert he suggested to go with (yes WITH) the wine was outstanding.
Joe our waiter (headband and ponytail) was charming and attentive.
