Has a very good Safeway with a Starbucks inside, and Rite Aid as the two major stores, with a string of smaller stores in between, many of which come and go in time.
Parking is abundant, and though it can get busy in front of Safeway at times, it’s never bad. There are a number of shuttered stores and restaurants at the moment, which is disappointing, and hopefully in time will be filled with something good for more options.
There is one Mexican restaurant among them that has changed names/owners(?) but has remained as your standard Americanized Mexican food restaurant.
The other food you can currently find (as of 12/20) is Oliver’s Sandwiches (I recommend), Papa Murphy’s Pizza, a small Teriyaki chain, and separate from the main strip but in the same parking lot you’ll find Sam’s(?) sit down restaurant and bar, Longhorn BBQ, Diary queen, and Safeway does have a Deli during the day.
Other stores I can think of are Pet Pro’s, GNC (or some vitamin store), a mailbox/shipping store, a Gym, Laundromat, Dry Cleaners, a hair salon, nails salon, and separate from the main strip is an automotive service for things like oil changes. Not connected to the main parking, but in the corner of the lot is a vacant Hollywood Video Building, which save for a couple short stints, has remained vacant for many years. Before that it was the eponymous Mr. A’s restaurant which was very popular in its day. I may have forgotten something, and will correct/update it when I can.
Though you can’t see the lake from the lot, there is a “Surprise Lake” just west of the lot, behind the buildings. More than you ever wanted to know about Surprise...
Read moreLocation is very good..centrally between Puyallup Summer Federal way Fife. Freeways 5 min away. The valley 167, 18 east and the I-5 Has good and wide entrances and exits...the anchor stores are Safeway, Rite Aid and Dollar tree. They have a Papa Murphy's and 2 Mexican restaurants , a larger sit-down traditional (and they of course have take out), the other more like a Bottega, smaller more personal. Also a T- mobile & Att cellular phone stores, a Pet supply, ...Plus many others, some newer ones that have just opened. Best part is that most all the people that work in these stores are friendly and a pleasure to meet! It has a small town familiarity and genuine niceness in the people who make these business ones I want to continue my patronage with!! Thank you for taking the time to read...
Read moreThis is just another strip mall. It has a dead hardware store (been empty for about ten or fifteen years) a Safeway and a bunch of other typical strip mall stores. At least it has a Papa Murphy's in it. But the Taco Time died and also more recently the Arby's (I guess they didn't have 'the meat'.) The paint is peeling off of the auto repair place. They replaced the time/temperature sign out front with one that has ads on it instead, so the sign is no longer useful. It's rumored that rents are high here. Considering the massive apartment building activity that has afflicted Edgewood in the last couple years it seems to me that this place should be a gold mine for the owners if run correctly. Maybe they could put an upscale grocer in the...
