The first thing that you'll notice when coming to this winery is it's not your typical location. This is your local homegrown backyard in a garden kind of winery. The couple here makes their own wine in a large shed in the backyard and they have an extensive list of wines. At the time that we came by there were three whites, one white blend, a blackberry wine, and seven different red wines including a blend. They also mentioned they had several other grape varietals being delivered over there the coming weeks so they definitely have their hands on many different grapes.
The atmosphere was wonderfully lush with thousands of pitcher plants as well as other carnivorous plants that were quite fun to interact with and watch as they ate wasps, fruit flies, and other bugs. They're two Labradors are wonderfully kind even if they do bag just a little bit which is adorable. The youngest oddly is the most tame and the oldest is the one with all of the energy. You'll find many, many frogs amongst the plants and every now and then (depending on the season) Will hear the frogs making some fun noise.
The winds themselves have quite a range of flavor and quality. Our favorite out of all of them was definitely the blackberry wine and we ended up buying a couple bottles. Our next favorites were the Sarah and probably the red blend. I would say of the whites the blend was the best and the other three had an off flavor at the end. The rest of the reds were varied in how good they taste, but overall I would say it was an enjoyable experience and something that I can see many people loving.
Last thing I want to say is a couple who make the all of the wine and live at the house were very sweet, great at conversation, and had wonderful stories to tell us about all kinds of things (especially all of the plants that they had and the frogs). If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by, meet them and have a tasting because no matter what, you're still going to walk away with a good story, at least a bottle of wine, and you'll learn a lot about the plants. I'm very happy we didn't turn around when we first saw it was at a...
Read moreWhen first arriving to this winery, you’re not sure if you’re in the right location as it’s hidden away in a quiet neighborhood. But once you get to the gate, the experience begins! You’re kindly greeted by the dogs and the lovely owner as well! The tasting area is by far my favorite (as it is literally their backyard) my friend and I enjoyed our tastings and just sat back and enjoyed the quiet. And the white wine- I can’t begin to tell you how amazing they are! We will be back for sure! This is the definition of a...
Read moreWe had a great visit to Chorus Frog! The owners were so friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed talking to them and hearing about (and tasting) all of their wines. The Sauvignon Blanc was our favorite, but they were all really great. We also loved the jammy reds. Their backyard is a beautiful, relaxing place to hang out, and their dogs are sweet. We wish we had this place in our...
