My wife and I are seniors (70+) and military veterans. We've stayed at Carson Valley RV Resort in Minden, Nevada over the years because we enjoy the well maintained RV amenities and the casino and restaurant. At $40 per night, (plus restaurant and casino), I estimate that we spent about $6,000 during our 3 month stay, which ended on March 1, 2021.
On February 25th, while paying my space rent, a male junior manager confronted me at the hotel desk. He accused me (in front of guests and staff) of several contrived transgressions and threatened to remove me from the RV park. This escalated into an email exchange with the Director of Hotel Operations. The Director was unwilling to resolve our issues and booted my wife and me out of the Carson Valley RV Resort.
The first allegation was that I had an "unauthorized guest" who was sleeping in a truck near my RV. This is completely false as my wife and I are the ONLY residents in our space and it makes NO sense that we would sleep in a truck rather than our RV. The second allegation was that I parked my truck (and small boat) overnight in the vacant space next to me in order to move our boat into storage next morning. He said we "deprived the park of a revenue producing space," although the park was half empty! I would have gladly moved, if asked, but he said "it's NOT our job to ask you!"
I don't think we were treated with the respect and courtesy due us as seniors and paying guests. The Director made a half-hearted apology that "things could have been handled better" but focused mostly on showing us that he did not want our business. I believe that we did not intentionally do anything that justified expulsion yet we were treated in a confrontational and hostile manner. We camped at Carson Valley RV Resort in a...
Read moreA small RV park oasis in the middle of the desert. This is a small park, but there are lots of trails to ride ATVs in this "ATV Friendly" area. We stayed Memorial Weekend 2016 - three night stay, arrived Friday, leaving Tuesday.||This park offers nice long pull through spaces. Someone posted the spaces are 100 ft. in length. I didn't measure, but I know we had more than enough room for the full sized truck, our 5th wheel toy hauler, the ATVs and my daughter's SUV, with room to spare (several feet). I would think two RVs might be able to share a site...but I don't know the policy.||The trees are mature and provide some great shade. We didn't need to open the awning because the tree was providing shade in the same area. Full hook-ups include water, 30 & 50 amp power, Wi-Fi internet, and cable TV. We didn't use the cable TV, because we have DirecTv. No obstructions for the satellite signal.||Our AT&T smartphones and tablets have great signal, even on the trails. We have had 4G services almost constantly (may have lost signal in a canyon, but I didn't check).||There are trash cans conveniently located. located. There is a laundry room with two washers and dryers. The washer is $1.00 and the dryer is $1.50. The granddaughter had an accident, so that's how we found out. I had my own quarters and supplies, don't know if they make change or sell soap, softener, etc. ||Most, if not all, of the other folks camping are fellow ATV riders. Great people on both sides of us. We will certainly be back in the near future and in the fall. Lots of trails. Fairly well maintained roads. Great for beginners and experts. So many roads you rarely run in to other people (at least on the West side).||Extra Bonus: Mina is less than 2 hours from...
Read moreMari was awesome!! She went out of her way to help up get extra sewer hose-cuz in 20 years of camping (some trips like this one 10 weeks) never had need for more hose then we had (14’) We have stayed here before in the old-sold off section-it was more like “camping” But what seems ridiculous is all the new sites seem to have hookups that were at the very front of site! Maxed out our electric line and most of the water hose. Took a while to rehook up due to how we had to park on edge of our pull thru site to get close to hookups. Others in the park were complaining too, should have placed all hook ups midway on each site to accommodate all types of Rvs. The RV Park has very well kept grounds, laundry rooms, pool, restrooms, & showers.. though shower room has an automatic light and turned off during the end of my shower with no warning, room was pretty dark. And like some of other campgrounds there is noise from Hwys 50 & 395 junction. This area of the park is fairly new and basically blacktop and gravel sites, the few trees are small so little shade(they need...
