Cook’d — Restaurant in Nevada

I have been waiting for this restaurant to open for a LONG Time, and It is so nice to have a ANOTHER CHOICE in Minden, and Boy do we Need it. The Service was Great, we Were greeted upon entering and set at a table by the window and the waitress was there in minutes. She immediatley brought water and gave us a few minutes to peruse the menu, She promptly took our order. I was so disappointed I REALLY wanted the Zughetti but was told they did not have it that night, and no wheat pasta.. So I ordered linquine with the family gravy. My husbandband ordered the Lasagna.. There was nothing served to fill in the gap, which I missed, maybe having some focaccia bread or even Breadsticks would have been nice. The food arrived, but it came with no sides. Just the pastas. The portions were not small, but pretty big and was very good. As the restaurant got fuller, the noise level was super loud. It was hard to have a conversation with my spouse, and we think that looking around, there is room for a few Booths under the windows and then on each side which would provide more of a coziness and HELP immensely with the noise level. However, It's just nice to have another choice for food and restaurant other than Casino's. I really want to have the Zughetti and will be back to try it, I am so looking forward to...

So, picture this: My friends and I are cruising down from Lake Tahoe, minding my own business, when suddenly I find myself in the little town of Mindin, NV. Wanted a bite to eat and stumble upon Cookd . The hostess greets us at the door like she's been expecting us all along - talk about a warm welcome! She seats us right away, and before I can even say "pizza," the wait staff swoops in to take our order. It's a Sunday evening, and lo and behold, they've got a deal on pizza - 50% off! But here's the catch: if you order one, you can only have two take out boxes home in a plastic box. I mean, talk about a slice of the action! Don't you just love a good food policy that keeps you on your toes? The gluten free cuts I ordered was excellent.

And let's not forget about the full bar - hello, cocktails! 🍹 Because what pairs better with pizza than a fancy drink, am I right? The place has a great vibe, but fair warning: those pizzas take their sweet time to come out of the oven. So, if you're in a rush, maybe stick to the appetizers. But hey, they've got a whole menu of other delicious options to keep you satisfied. All in all, Mindin's got a lot going for it - good food, good drinks, and good times. Food was pretty good, our server was not (M). Another server had to go get him after we sat there long enough to pick our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. There was supposedly a miscommunication regarding whose table we were, which whatever things happen. However, he continued to have an attitude until after our entrees arrived despite the fact we had not treated him badly in any way. This included questions regarding the bar menu (IPAs tend to vary a bit, if you don’t know then just say you don’t know) and smacking the appetizer plates against our drink glasses instead of just placing them in an open spot or just handing them to us. Finally, he managed to take my half a burger away without asking if I was done when I was distracted trying to make sure my mom didn’t pay the check on her birthday. I don’t know why he was in such a rush to clear us out (other issues contributed to this feeling) when the place was still open for another hour and a half.
