Amerikan Ni Sushi — Restaurant in Minden

Well what an experience!!! We looked at reviews while my wife and I were in town and decided this looked like a nice place for dinner. We were served our dinner surprisingly fast, well half of it. I ordered eight pieces of nigiri and my wife ordered the tempura dinner. A portion of the nigiri was old and spoiled, my wife received only half her dinner, they never brought the soup or rice even after being asked twice. We waited about fifteen minutes and finally went to the front to pay for what we did receive and let them know we were dissatisfied. They proceeded to argue with me and denied providing bad service and said all their food was good and that I didn’t know what good food was. They refused to remove items from the bill and stated immediately if I didn’t pay in full they would have to make some calls, I asked them what that meant and they referred to the sheriffs office. I gladly waited, surprisingly the officers responded very quickly. I explained the situation to them, and the staff actually said that the sides were not priced individually and therefore were considered complimentary like cream and sugar at a coffee place. I ended up paying them for the food we did receive and they boldly said we were never welcome back. As this wrapped up, the officer said he was in fact there the previous weekend and had a similar experience and actually became extremely sick after eating there and again when he followed up the next day he was confronted with hostility and they denied having bad food. Now I can understand that restaurants are struggling after this past year but they still have a responsibility to provide safe food and good service, this place is extremely aggressive and has no regard for making sure their food is properly prepared. Really disappointed. Went based on reviews. It’s clean and definitely not busy (which I now understand). I took my kids (who love sushi). Paid $21 a piece for kids for LUNCH! At that price you’d expect appetizers and really good rolls. Instead, you have a waitress watching your table like a hawk who becomes very pushy when you ask for both a regular and sushi menu (because $21 for sushi for a 5 year old is rediculous). No appetizers, not even soup. And SO MUCH rice on the rolls. The first rolls we ordered were bland and dry and we were scraping the rice off the bottoms so we could taste (frankly) anything. The second round, After I asked for not so much rice since it was excessive, came drowned in a weird sweet sauce that was overwhelming. When you gag on food - like - that’s a good sign it’s pretty bad. We won’t be back. I don’t mind spending $80 on a special lunch if it’s WORTH it. $80 for cups and cups of rice drowned in thick sweet sauce is just insulting. So many...

I barely just got into the restaurant sat...less then 5 minutes and I was over the customer service. My coworker and I are in town on a business trip.. as we were seated we were asked what we would like to drink ...ordered and then asked the waitress (mariah name she gave me ) if we could split our bill. Mariah then refused and mentioned it was not permitted. My coworker then asked could he sit at a separate table in order to have our own bills she still refused. Final straw was asking if we could then pay the bill with two cards and she still refused. Mariah lacked customer service, people skills, and overall gave the impression she did not want to be at work. Keep in mind Mariah said she was the manager.
