Yes, customer service really sucks these days. I still give a good tip to the employees; the few who show up to work that is. The food is decent, but the service has definitely gone downhill. Not necessarily the fault of the employees or possibly even management? But it still is what it is! I’m evaluating my experience at this Mexican restaurant. it’s very slow. I walked in at the latter half of lunchtime, and sat alone at the bar seating almost 15 minutes before even being acknowledged. Made my order to go, while sitting there and having a couple of beers. Last two times, not even provided with chips and salsa, as has always been traditional here and at most Mexican restaurants. I asked to pay extra and take some salsa and chips home with my to go order. Acknowledged, but not provided. twice now in the past two weeks. The bottom line is that service just sucks. And sadly, it is a part of the times. And it sucks in most places. And I’m just evaluating this place at...
Read moreMy family and I love to come and stay at CVI. We were craving Mexican food and found this place within walking distance. My husband and daughter went to pick up the food and good a margaritas and soda while they waited for their food. They said the staff and people at the bar were very nice, polite, and friendly. They went above and beyond to provide them with the best experience. As for food it was delicious and if you like spicy this is the spot! My husband got camarones a la Diablo with corn tortillas, refried beans, and rice. The shrimps were big, they give you a good amount, and the Diablo sauce was flavorful and spicy. I ordered two spicy street chicken tacos.. They must have used something similar to the Diablo sauce cuz it had a similar flavor and was spicy. I loved them. My fighter got a rice bean and cheese burrito which she said was great as well. We will definitely be going back next...
Read moreFriendly, clean, tasty, and with giant margaritas! Ordered carne asada con camaron ($18), tacos a la carte ($2.25/ea), bean & cheese burrito plates for the children ($5.99), a mulita a la carte ($3), and flan. Plus, two margaritas. Plus a little Casa Azul tequila.
The carne con camaron was terrific, and I'll order it again. The tacos were excellent, and on Tuesdays they're only $1.25. (Update: still the same price years later in 2023).
Other occasion: meat bowl ($50 for two), was tasty, except I don't like peeling my own shrimp.
The booths provide a cozy atmosphere, and the tables are glossy clean with decorative table runners. Service was thoughtful, meaning, the servers actually contemplated our needs ahead of time. Much...
