Colonial Market and Restaurant — Local services in Minneapolis

I had an order through DoorDash from this restaurant. The Dasher informed me that the restaurant seemed delayed. When I received my food, I noticed that my Birria quesadilla was missing the birria sauce (which was in the photo, so I assumed it would be included). I understand that delays and mistakes can happen, especially during busy times, but my main concern was the condition of the chicken taco. When I opened the container of the tacos, it had an off, pungent smell — Past its expiration date kind of smell . As someone who works in the food industry, I know the importance of quality checks, and this smell was a clear red flag. The onions and cilantro that were also on the taco, in my other items were fine. It was the chicken in the taco that had that strong, funky odor that made me scrunch my face and choose not to eat. The carne taco in the same container also seemed overcooked. Overall, the experience was disappointing. The flan and the birria quesadilla were good, but the missing the birria sauce really missed the mark, along with the bad chicken. DoorDash was able to issue a refund, which I appreciated. I also tried to call the restaurant to alert them about the chicken so they could check on the food quality on their end of things, but the staff member I spoke with only spoke Spanish and was unable to understand me, which prevented me from...

I'm giving it three stars because most of these items you can find at Walmart or Cub Foods I mean if you're seeking to find traditional authentic Mexican food you might as well go somewhere else the last time I tried something there was kind of dry tasteless the food is ok other than that I mean your shopping experience is pretty much okay they have selection of fresh ingredients onions strawberries fruits things like that not the best quality but I mean it's okay other than that if you're looking for authentic Mexican spices and ingredients for your dishes it's a good place to go they make their own tortillas they have their machine and they're also a bakery which I give the bakery 6 Stars if I could their bread is always fresh very good is the best I've tried many of their bakeries in Minneapolis and this one is top 100 very good bread but there services that adds on to the bakery is a 3 * okay people that work there nice other than that there's other...

We honestly just stopped by to check out the new place, and I think it’s one of the best Latin markets I’ve visited in Minneapolis, with a huge variety of fresh and high-quality Hispanic products. The place was very clean and I loved the tacos from the restaurant inside, we couldn’t resist and had to try them ( authentic Mexican flavor: very delicious, good portion and price 👌 ) They also have specials and they thank you for your purchase with a gift from the store ( they gave us two pounds of fresh chicken and a 10% off card for my future purchases! ) And without a doubt, the customer service was exceptional.
