They had several small shops and I have been to most of them. So people here are super nice and friendly. Let me start with loma tamales- their tamales are great and their atole even better. Next to it is âla Reina de los jugosâ a stand that sales natural freshly squeezed juice I have tried their carrot juice and it was wonderful. Next to that is a small bakery - I will say they have some of the best pan Dulce Iâve ever had especially their donuts they are always so soft and tasty thatâs probably why they run out so fast all the time. In the middle area thereâs a lady that sales meds and natural tea and pain creams she has been there a while and is super sweet lady, every time I need something for my crampy legs I stop by her stand to get a recommendation from her and so far everything has worked. Near her stand is the floweshop stand and the owner is such a sweetheart, there was one occasion I didnât have cash and he let me take the flowers and come back later to pay (at the time he didnât know me) I mean I honestly did not expect that at all (yes, I came back to pay) his flowers last good at least two to three weeks. Every time I get a chance I stop by to get some carnations from here. Then thereâs a little convenience stand where they sale candy, and various products normally I get a coke and peanuts here for a snack and they lady there is also super nice and friendly. When I was pregnant she would give me random advice on how to take care of myself. It was nice to get that sense of my culture where people genuinely care about your wellbeing without trying to sale you something. Then there is the pupusa restaurant which is very good and tasty. The two Mexican places there also have great tasting food. Try any of them you will not be disappointed. Oh and before i forget on the second floor there is a printing shop and the guy there is very helpful. Also, there is a hair salon, on the weekends it can be a bit of a wait but they do great hair...
Read moreGreat customer service from vendors. You know that they're there to sell, but also to make sure you leave happy. Unfortunately for me, I find their lack of product competition unfortunate. I have worked with "markets" like this in the past and noticed it right away. Each vendor is selling one particular category of items. (Most likely because management has made them sign no-competition agreement to even get a store front in the Mercado.) Only one had a good selection of clothes, another jewelry, another CDs and DVDs. This doesn't allow for price comparison or variety in selection. Perhaps this is why I notice the mood to over be slow or lackluster. I remember the Mercado being such a vibrant environment, not the case today. Very sad for businesses there and for...
Read moreThe food here is better than any Mexican restaurant around. Real authentic, and you have a variety of food stands to chose from . Mexican, Salvadoran, Honduran. July 15th., 2021 I ate today at the Taqueria, next to San Marcos, I ordered the carne asada, it looked fantastic, in the picture, even on my plate!! But I swear, this BULL was shot right at the point it was feeling most ornery for the cow, all due respect, i know i got served the most private of private parts for any bull, for this was the toughest piece of meat i have ever had in the U.S.A.!! I have had bad meats, but THIS was the worst!!! Do NOT eat from...
