K Nails & Spa — Local services in Minneapolis

I visit this nail spa and salon 3 - 4 times a year since 2012. I only visit in the summer time during the summer months. I always purchase the spa deluxe pedicure which is $13 more. Yesterday I visited with my sister who purchased the deluxe and I purchased the regular and she received a wax and wrap. I asked Kim if the wax and wrap was a new service and she said no. I asked her how come I've never received the wax and wrap. she said "you don't come; you purchase regular." I informed her that I always purchased deluxe with the exception of right now. I love the long soaks with the deluxe spa, but I've been doing my own pedi's all winter. meanwhile, she's laughing and playing but not addressing the issue at hand. and finally she says. "you complain bout everything, you not pay my rent." now Kim is cool but I was shocked because I just learned that I have been paying for a service that I didn't receive. HMMMM!!!!

I lost $40 in Kspa yesterday. the only possible place I could have lost it I call yesterday and said, "Kim when I pulled my phone out while getting my feet done I dropped $40. When you was cleaning on the side of the chair when you dropped the lotion did you pick it up because I remember you being down their for a while but not coming up with anything but closed bottle of lotion and a balled up towel." Kim reply was "NO! Maybe you lose some where else you not lose here CC." She got that $40 off the floor. Bad business Kim...

I thought I would give this place a try since it's in the neighborhood and I was able to make an appointment online. When I arrived a few minutes early and mentioned I had an appointment, all they said was pick a color. Never asked my name or time for appointment. Their nail polish selection was awful! What they did have was mostly some cheap off brands, the good stuff (OPI & China Glaze) selection was minimal and/or empty. Had to chose a color I didn't really want just to ensure there was enough in the bottle to do my pedicure. My nail guy was pleasant, though he only did an "ok" job. He also asked me a few times what pedicure I wanted. Just a basic is what I said, but he kept asking me??? At the end, I believe I was charged for a deluxe! The salon was busy, there were a few customers who claimed to have an appointment (I don't know if they did or not??) that ended up having to wait way beyond their appointment time, with their feet in cold water after 20+ minutes, they were upset, and rightfully so. The women running the show just kept telling people to "pick a color" as she was working on manicures. I understand wanting to get as much business as possible before end of day, but not at the expense of customers who had appointments and the people who would have to wait with no idea for how long. Vicki ripped my nail off and drew blood. Then told me come back next day she will do nails but handed me off to rude Sofia. Sophia became rude because she didn't understand how I wanted my nails done I told her it's all about the color you can style it however you want but mainly I want the orange and the blue butterflies she got frustrated at me and started talking in her foreign language to Vicky. Told Vicky and her foreign language that she do me next time LOL. They talking their foreign language so much they think people don't understand it because we're black but there are black people who speak foreign language. When I first got there and met with Vicky because I thought she was doing my nails, Vicki yelled at me saying Sofia do my nails, but Sofia didn't get there until 1030. I was there at 10:00 actually before 10:00 sitting in the parking lot. This place is definitely unorganized. It is first come first serve they do not take appointments and cash only on Fridays and Saturday. Today was my first day getting my nails done the day before was my first day getting a pedicure. I was not aware of the cash only days. They tried to tell me I could use the ATM behind me LOL but all I had was my cell phone to pay the bill and they took my tap pack.
