Nice Time Market + More — Local services in Minneapolis

I want to give this store 5 stars. It’s a vast improvement over what was there before. Selection is pretty good overall, lots of organics, and even a bulk spice section. Two things have led me to downgrade my rating. First, the cheese selection is really bad - Bongaard’s cheese has the texture of soft rubber and almost no flavor. All of their cheese in this section is theirs. We live in dairy country; it’s hard to imagine not being able to find better, higher quality cheeses like Prairie Breeze, among many others.

Second, the owner who has the deli/prepared food section appears friendly when you enter the store, but if you try to engage in any actual conversation, she just kinda stares straight ahead, as if I’m/you’re not worth engaging with. It’s kind of creepy. Definitely not a Minnesota neighborhood vibe. Get to know customers. That’s how we do neighboring here. The choices in this prepared food section are okay, but not spectacular. In my opinion, they don’t merit the price. Still much better than what we had before. The other owner who’s usually in the back office is very friendly...

What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood!

There are so many things to love about Nice Time. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Any time I am there and can’t find what I need, they are helpful in either finding it or suggesting an alternative.

Their selection is surprisingly good and includes all of the staples you might need in a pinch. As another reviewer mentioned, the prices for most things are comparable (and often less than) Cub, Target or Lund’s.

I LOVE that you can purchase certain produce items like fresh herbs, celery, etc. in smaller quantities so you end up with less waste. Same goes for their bulk spices section.

Their deli food is delicious and has generous portions. You can tell it’s made by a very talented chef!

I just moved into the area and stopped in to tour Nice Time market and what an experience. It gives modern, community, healthy, vibrant, and inclusive. I was greeted by one person who was ever so helpful. Then I had the pleasure of talking to Tatum, one of the owners, and she talked me through the sandwich she was making me. When I tell you it was so refreshing. I feel good about my choices today! The sandwich was a vegan eggplant sandwich. I don't know the name, but I bet she can do it again! They have other fresh dishes as well, like sauces, hot sauce, salsa, pesto, roasted vegetables, roasted meats, and soup. This place was just what I needed being so far from home!
