I just want to start by saying Mn has the worst food ever! The beef ribs at this place were very delicious it came as a dinner with a sauce cup sized can beans and coleslaw. The coleslaw was good as well. I ordered collard greens, black eyed peas and peach cobbler. The greens were tasteless no meat, no flavor no nothing! The black eyed peas same. No taste just a spicy flavor . As for the peach cobbler it was cold and soupy. Peach cobbler is a pie it should be warm. This place has no restroom might as add. It’s among the many places in Minneapolis that doesn’t low customers to use the bathroom. Also I paid $47 bucks for samples. The portion size is sample sized. The black eyed peas was big enough to share but they are not good.

have been to ted's a few times and they have been a great last minute spot to pick up lunch / dinner staff is very friendly and always quick with orders never have to wait no more than 10 mins i always get the full slab of pork or beef ribs (in the photo its the pork slab) and side of large jojo's (soo yummy i love the potatoes, you can get them covered in sauce or ask for the sauce on the side for more control) i just wanted to post my review to squash the recent negative ones, i paid $36 and i think the ribs were pretty dang meaty, and the flavor was amazing very tangy smokey and delicious! they are a local gem in my opinion

Ok, here’s the deal, Ted Cooks is the best BBQ spot in the Twin Cities. 90% of the time the ribs a perfect and meaty. However, there have been times where the product is not the best. Ribs can be fatty sometimes. Tonight I received ribs that were not the best (fatty). Chopped differently then I’ve seen them for 20 years too. I really hope this is not a new type of rib/product they’re using? Something was different tonight. I’m still giving Ted’s a 5-star because they usually are the real deal. When you walk in it looks like a run down place, but the food is what matters, and they do it right. I love their sauce too!

Ordered 35 dollars of food with sauce on side. They forgot sauce I called they said I didn’t bag it the guy who bagged it is gone! I said your food requires the sauce that’s what makes it, he said right then said nothing.... I said well what now he said well people who are in area will come back and get... not in area I’m in west Bloomington so what are you going to do? Nothing so you lose a customer who has been coming from back in the real times of Ted cooks over some dam sauce you stupid so I will never go there again cause your service sucks and you food sucks with no sauce!!!! I will tell everyone and I will no longer spend a dime at your rude service and dry ass meat!!! And people I want you to know this is not the first time but it will definitely be the last for me,, if you can’t get it right and more times then not you mess up the orders and I spend decent money there and each time you lie and say it wasn’t you !! Time for me to move on and make sure I no longer promote or support your business! Eventually you...

I was recommended this place after expressing i was craving some ribs. But true beef ribs, not like applebees or chili's type ribs, real southern, juicy, meaty ribs. That is not what i got here. I have the ribs 3 stars because had they not been mostly bone, these would be really good ribs. But to charge people $25+ tax for large Flinstone bones with meat just on the sides of the bone is CRIMINAL. If i took all the meat off the bones and weighed it it'd probably only reach about 8 oz fr. My friend who recommended the place had told me they could eat 20 of these ribs and now I see why. They are so little and meatless it's a shame. There's no I should be able to eat 7 whole ribs comfortably, and he eat 20 in a setting. That tells you a lot. I can't even say I'd order here again because the next thing i like is brisket but they slice theirs into thin strips rather than slabs like I'm used to. 3/10 overall and thats for flavor and tenderness of the meat i did get to eat.

**And the "jojos" are terrible, no further...

Tried to phone order in, but they were too busy to take a call, so I brought a book and went anyway. Had to wait 10 minutes to place the order (pork ribs, sliced beef, and half chicken, with extra sides of red beans with rice and greens), and another 20 minutes for the food. Hadn't ever eaten their bbq before, so I ordered medium instead of hot... good thing, since medium was plenty hot for me. Brought it home, nicely packed in styrofoam clamshells safely wrapped in paper. And now I'm hooked; that was possibly the best bbq I've ever had. My 8 year old son said the sauce was too peppery, but he loved it anyway. The jo-jo potatoes were pretty good, and the beans were watery but very good. There was one minor mixup: I thought I had ordered beef ribs, not sliced beef, but it was so good I didn't care.

Chains, eat your mechanical, soulless hearts out. Your three-ring binders will never match the amazing food that a dedicated and skilled mom and pop outfit like Cook's...
