Before writing this review I visited the Montebello Macy’s store on three occasions this past month to make sure my opinion wasn’t just based off of one visit and to give them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I have been consistently disappointed with the overall condition and organization of the store.
During each visit, I found it incredibly difficult to navigate the store - more so the men’s departments - due to the messiness and lack of proper organization. Clothes were frequently strewn on the floor, mismatched to their department, and not put away or still on rolling racks making it challenging to find the items I was looking for. It was disheartening to see the store in such disarray, especially considering my own prior experience working at this same Macy's store as a young adult, where cleanliness and organization were always maintained at a high standard by management.
Additionally, while some departments clearly lacked any employee presence, at others I noticed that 2-4 employees were frequently grouped together, engaging in personal conversations rather than being readily available to assist customers or otherwise keeping the store clean and orderly. This lack of attentiveness made it even more challenging to locate items or receive the help I needed. Why aren’t these employees folding clothes or keeping the department orderly if they’re not ringing up customers? Why do I have to hunt someone down for a price check? It’s likely because there are rolling racks in the middle of the walkways covering the self-service price check machine. It’s one mishap after another and it’s very frustrating.
As a long-time Macy's customer, I believe that the management of this particular store needs immediate improvement. To the Macy’s Montebello Management team: “WALK. THE. FLOOR! See for yourselves how awful your departments look and do something.” I hope that the management team takes these concerns seriously and implements necessary changes to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
Given my recent experiences, I’ve decided to visit other Macy's locations in the future, in the hope of finding a better-managed store that aligns with the standards I expect...
Read moreMontebello Macy's: purchased Charter pins on line. Went into Montebello Macy's to obtain boxes for these pins and Arnold opened the sealed boxes with receipt inclosed. Arnold told me he could only give me 3 boxes as he saw I needed more than 3 boxes. Macy's had alot of Red Boxes that these pins would fit but Arnold refuses to give me any. Manager Vanessa, then said those Red Boxes are for the Red Sales items. Vanessa said, I had to call Customer Service to obtain small boxes for these pins or I could also drive to the Downey Macy's to see if they would give me boxes for these small pins. Giving me boxes for these pins purchase on line has become a nightmare. Red, Brown, White small boxes of any color has made me just want to return all these 2 inch small pins. Montebello Macy's has made me, as a customer have Stress over obtaining these boxes and I don't want to drive to Downey Macy's or call Customer Service to get these boxes when they have them inside cabnet where I and Manage Vanessa could see them and I pointed them out. Giving me any color boxes would have just made me feel good about buying these Charter pins on line as gifts and would have left. Case Closed. Gave Manager Vanessa my phone number so she can call me when they come in. Hope I not waiting for a phone message that never comes. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED IN MONTEBELLO MACY'S CUSTOMERS SERVICE. Today is Feb. 9, 2022 and never received a phone call or text from Manager Vanessa in the Jewelry Dept as she said she would do. Walked over to counter and had the employee read this text and she said she would give me small jewlry boxes for these 17 Charter Club pins for Valentine's Day I purchased on line in Oct. 2021. No Drama and good Customer Service. Thank you so much for treating a Macy's customers with DIGNITY...
Read moreThe fragrance department is filled with unfortunate disrespectful associates. My mom and I are very big on collecting perfumes of all kind, our go to store had always been the one in Glendale Galleria. But because this is only 11 minutes away from us she decided to buy a gift there and when asked to get checked out the associate rudely asked her “are you sure you want to purchase this? Do you realize how much it is?” Looked at her up and down and my mom said “yes if I look the way I do is only because I came from work” they attempted to offer her perfumes for herself she let the associate know she had them already and was only interested in the birthday present she was originally there for this was during the week. Yesterday she decided to stop by and ask for the FLOWERBOMB EXTREME new release that viktor & rolf marketing team texts there customers and they tried showing her other perfumes from that line when she proceeded to tell the associate “i have those already i’m talking about the one they text me this morning let me show you” the associated turned to her coworker and laughed saying “i’m not helping her out anymore because she swears she has almost everything I show her” my mom in disbelief walked away disappointed. She did mention another associate stepped up and apologized for there actions. But unfortunately we don’t think we will be back anytime soon or maybe not at all. I don’t think we need to walk around with our personal perfume collection for associates to believe what we have and unfortunately some of us don’t like every brand. Hopefully attitudes changes soon but for now we’ll stick to Glendale...
