I was absolutely floored by the old-time ambiance and a step into the past into this charming hardware (and much more) store. Just the building itself took me a bit into yesteryear, especially with the train chugging by the nearby tracks. I could also just see the hitching posts with all the horses lined up on the side of the store.
There was such a nice mix of hardware and houseware items and I loved all the unusual seasonal decorations.
We also so very much appreciated the very personal touch from the owner, Pete Bender, in helping us select the Weber grill model that fit our needs perfectly. Being that it is a family business, his son set up our grill and delivered it to us for free - even placing all the batteries in the electronic portion of the grill.

For this visit, I needed our patio screen door repaired. I had accidentally walked into the screen and my knee went right through. Also one of the bottom wheels was missing (probably as I tried multiple times to remove the door from its tracks). I was quite surprised when I got the call to pick it up because it had been barely more than a week. And the price was less than $50!!!

The staff is knowledgeable and they have a good selection of whatever it is you need. Great place to explore - guaranteed you'll find something you need! Reminds me of an old time 5&10.
These types of "hardware" stores are disappearing, and it's a shame. There are some things you just can't get anywhere else, BUT at a hardware store...plus you get free popcorn...
