Let me start off by saying, I love The Pie lady, their food is delicious. I am writing this to warn those with Celiac or gluten sensitivity to be very cautious. I came in this week with my mom for brunch. I ordered gf French toast, which I have ordered many times in the past without any problem. This week I happened to be sitting next to someone who is gluten sensitive at the next table, I have celiac. We struck up a conversation when we heard each other order the same gf French toast. Our orders were taken almost exactly at the same time and our food came out together together as well. After eating about half of one of the slices of French toast our server came to check on us and noticed that we both had our food. She stopped me from eating and said that there was no way that our food could come out at the same time because the portion of the grill that is dedicated to gf is too small, and that my food must be regular French toast. She went in to confirm with the chef and I was served regular French toast. I downed three glasses of water immediately tried to eat some of the gf French toast that they had given me as a replacement but started to get more and more sick. We ended up packing our food to go and leaving our drinks mid meal. The server was concerned and said that as a courtesy she would give me 50% off of my entree $7. I was sick and could not keep food down for two days. This is a minor compared to others I know who have more severe cases of celiac. I was very surprised that my meal was not comped all together and that there was no attempt to get my contact information to at minimum follow up to ensure I was ok. Celiac is super serious and I want to ensure everyone is safe. If ordering GF please have your server double check when your...
Read moreTasty breakfast options! If you decide to come on a weekend be prepared to wait, just like every other place that serves breakfast! Service was a bit slow, but again it was busy and a lot of places are understaffed, this is something you need to understand if you go out anywhere to eat.
I really enjoyed my breakfast and the orange juice tasted freshly squeezed! It was so good that my breakfast mates had to order one as well. Sitting outside was nice and they are dog friendly for the outdoor eating area. I was with my sister and brother-in-law, they have two dogs and the wait staff was so friendly to them. I would recommend coming here if you are in the local area and are looking for something good and home cooked! My brother-in-law said this was the best monte cristo sandwich he ever had.
There is also a take-out cafe that has teas, coffee and pastries to the right side of the building. As soon as you step in it’s so warm and smells amazing! They were pulling fresh baked items from the oven, I purchased an apple cider mini donut and iced tea. Both items I ordered were so good and priced...
Read moreWent to the Pie Lady for the first time today. It was very busy and therefore a bit slow but the pie was AWESOME. I had 2 huge pieces. One was coconut cream which was beautifully eggy with a crust that tasted like buttery sugar cookies. The other was cherry almond - and it was the best cherry pie I have ever had. It was so good we ordered a whole one to take home with us. My mom had their eggs benedict and breakfast potatoes. The eggs were perfectly poached. She said they were wonderful. We also took a bag of scones home but we are so pleasantly stuffed we'll save them for breakfast tomorrow. The wait staff is friendly and doesn't mind questions, there are lots of vegetarian options, and they can accommodate allergies. Plus the place is very nicely decorated and there is a big old porch you can sit on. The only thing that was a negative; which was not something they could control, was customers lack of masks. Everyone who worked there were wearing masks though (thank you 💕). I wish I didn't live so far away but I...
