Runnings (Moorhead, MN),
Hello. First thing's first: I LOVE Runnings and spend a lot of money there. Always have. Always will. As far as what Runnings has? FIVE Stars. But, I ran into a situation in Runnings some time ago that I'd finally like to make public because I never want it to happen to anyone again. In about March (approximately) of 2023 on about a Saturday (approximately) at about noon (approximately), I was approached by an employee/manager whose name I don't know, but whose face I'll probably never forget. The employee/manager told me I had been in Runnings a few times in a few days. I was. As my Review already says, I LOVE Runnings and spend a lot of money there. Even though I only ever mind my own business when I'm out and about, the employee/manager then told me other employees/managers were hiding in the back from me because I had been in a few times in a few days. Because I was shocked about what I'd just heard, I replied with, "Excuse me?". The employee/manager then replied with a rude/childish/mean, "You heard me.". After the employee/manager walked away, I felt awkward/hurt/embarrassed. There's nothing wrong with any employee or manager politely asking any customer why they come in a few times in a few days. There's everything wrong with an employee or manager being immature/unprofessional to a customer and making them feel bad about themselves. This employee/manager gets ONE Star because ZERO Stars isn't an option. No one deserves to be treated by anyone like that. Please: Every employee and manager at Runnings deserves a talking-to about, at the very least, how to correctly handle situations like this. I'm a nice guy. I'll also point the finger at myself. I wish that situation had never happened, and I'm sorry that that situation ever happened. I'm not perfect, and I want everyone to be cool with everyone, but I don't want anyone to just get away with talking like that. No one's perfect. We all do things we shouldn't do. We all have bad days. We all say things we shouldn't say. I'm sure this employee/manager is a great person and employee/manager. I hope this is all just a hilarious misunderstanding we can all just have a good laugh about one day. Thank you....

Never heard of Runnings. But as soon as I walk in with my Service Dog I'm asked to leave my backpack up front 🤨
It takes me a sec to process. Huh? Nobody but Family Dollar (who I don't patronize anymore) or the occasional convenience store in a high crime area does that.
But I'm like.. oohokay, leave it where? And this Greeter or whoever says "oh just up front here" and points to some empty shelves RIGHT AT THE DOOR! "
😳🤯
rrrright... ok sure you don't trust me hobbling along with a Service Dog with my backpack secured out of reach and not able to acces without a lot of trouble
... buuut Ima trust you with $100+ of PAID merchandise from Walmart packed to the gill backpack sitting right there.. a LITERAL DOOR PRIZE for you I would assume or some other lucky thief grabbing it on the way out.. or in.. who knows?!
So as I'm standing out front writing this, 2 nice ladies, one WITH A BACKPACK, the other with a purse comes out, comments how cute Ginger (my Service Dog) is 🙄😉. So I ask them if they were required to leave their bags at the front.
NOPE
So it's confirmed: its NOT a policy, obviously, just good ol fashioned discrimination! Spending money here...
Read moreIt's as it always is, in and out, we buy our dog food there. The funny thing is, they have everything you may need. Soap for the body of animals, or humans, toys for tots and teens, guns and clothes, everything..... hardware for fences and gates and doors and everything else. They have yard tools and gardening tools, mowers and frames for inside your home, flags and flag sticks - (we just bought one as well) and Christmas ornaments, chicks to become chickens, and horse riding gear and accessories... !!! The only thing that they don't carry, and I am saying this with kindness and a bit of humor, they carry brushes for everything, drills to goats and horses to cattle, but they don't carry a brush for me, and my mane!!! So far as I have discovered... BTW, I did ask for help. They were also fascinated that there wasn't one anywhere for human hair either. Won't stop me from going. I like it there. I will change my 3 star to 4 if they started carrying brushes for me, I save 5 stars for off the map...
