Prairie Bricks — Local services in Moorhead

Take my review with a grain of salt. If you enjoy everything LEGO.. then you’re in luck!!.. because they have a lot of it! Definitely go check it out.

As an AFOL who also works for an airline traveling the country I am lucky enough to visit many different 3rd party LEGO stores. BAM stores are becoming the norm so I’m always excited to check out a new one that is doing things differently. I walked 1 hour on a hot day to get to the store so of course I had a small backpack to carry my water bottle. It caught me off guard that I had to place my backpack in a locker upon entering. I’ve read some of the history online regarding this policy and I will say I understand.. however, it does feel a little over the top. Antique shop next door has a similar issue but they simply asks customers to leave their bags behind the counter..

Lego and related products have always been a great way to encourage imagination in kids, and fun hobbies for adults with some of their more complicated sets. Unfortuantely ownership of this store is left in hands that shouldn't be public facing.

If you look at all into the history of this shop, you'll likely run into Tyler’s story among other instances where they have been outright rude to customers and have shown a lack of customer service knowledge.

Reading their responces to any criticism from reviews further goes to prove that they don't understand when they are only giving themselves a black eye. I wholely expect some form of response to this review where they try to drag me through the mud or something, and I laugh that they'll just further prove my point.

As much as I want to support local businesses, I would just recommend ordering something online, or finding new sets at Target / Walmart etc. Hopefully we get a new store in town eventually with a similar theme that knows how to treat customers...

I go to Prairie Bricks a lot as a Lego fan and i find it very useful to have somewhere selling sets and pieces that i would otherwise have to order online. Their staff is incredibly helpful and welcoming and will help you weather you are a super fan or just interested in the hobby. I just recently stopped in to pick up a few pieces that would have otherwise cost a ton more than they are worth with shipping and the staff were incredibly helpful with helping me ID the piece and pointing me in the right direction and on top of that i got the pieces for free (along with a few business cards i will hand out) and a bar of chocolate (for following the bag policy that is totally understandable). Overall a very great business that will suit you no mater what...
