My Mac air book died and I didn’t have any way to communicate with my desktop computer at home for business or basically use it for other reasons at the beach. It’s extremely important to me and finding the right person who will be honest and take care of it in a timely matter is of the upmost importance. That means dealing with not only skill but integrity as well. I did read reviews on yelp and decided to choose computer matters. A quick phone call Write me too a person who seems able two quickly excess the problem and be able to tell me what could be done. There were no promises about fixing it since he could not diagnose it on the phone. Let it be said that I walked into an office that was generously used and filled with computer parts and items scattered about surrounding a man with a gentle and kind smile and I can do attitude. I explain the situation and he found a crack in the screen right away and thought it could be a simple fix but we need to look at it more in depth when I left. Not a problem. He called later and it was worse than I thought, he agreed with my son-in-law yit was the motherboard which is not a good thing at all. I have a terrible habit of breaking computers, iPhones, I have candles and so I have an idea of what fixing these items does cost as well as the time it can take to get the job done if it can be fixed at all. When returning to his shop I was convinced I would have to take my husband‘s new Dell and use that as my computer and have documents and photos transferred which was depressing as I do like a Mac. Having mention this to him he offered me solution solution that was great I needed to think about. He had an old 2020 Mac Pro which he could transfer all my information to and it would be stronger and faster than the Mac I had run into him. This comes into play because my husband does his Invisalign work for his orthodontic practice On a computer. And thinking about this it occurred to me because the price quoted was so reasonable that I could take this Mac that was refurbished and leave it at the beach for my husband and I to use when we came. No more bringing our computers back-and-forth to handl Any business that we would have to do when we were there. It also gave me the opportunity to use the Dell computer for my laptop when I travel as it was smaller and stronger and would Provide me with accident insurance so that if I stomped on it and broke it they would send me a new one. This would be incredible for someone like me. Computer matters worked with me to make this happen as quickly as possible. He transferred my computer to the new Mac seamlessly so that I didn’t even know that it was a new computer because the set up was so precise. NHL that I left was not just the transference but also have been set up so that it functions as a Mac and was put into folders where I could access the information I needed easily. I had never had better service, more professional service, or a more delightful kind smart and nice person to work with in circumstances which could be very frightening when you are dealing with technology you don’t understand but you do very much need. I can’t imagine not using this company in the future instead of the company I have used in Greenville. This is how good he was. I saw him interact with other customers as well and he is straightforward and kind and sympathetic as well as knowledgeable and professional. These are attributes needed in this service because the majority of his customers are people like me. We use it but we have no idea what is going on when it gives us trouble and our only recourse is to depend upon the honesty and integrity of the person we choose to handle our expensive purchase. You would have to be crazy to go anywhere else. He anticipates and he tries to give you not only what you want but what he believes you will need. Even Before you’re smart enough to figure out it is what you need and it really is what you want. I have over 20 years starting with the Sony VAIO Of mutilating...
Read moreGo absolutely positively anywhere else to get your computer/electronics fixed. Dropped my computer off here a year ago to get a battery that would no longer hold charge replaced. Fast forward to a few months ago and my laptop legitimately started burning my arm and smoking while I was using it. Took it back here since they worked on it before and was told it had absolutely nothing to do with the battery that was replaced at this location. Suspiciously, the battery was the only part of the laptop that was melted. He charged me $125 to backup my data, which was done in the five minutes that I was standing in the lobby, and to tell me not to use this laptop anymore. Then tried to sell me a $700 Lenovo and tried to seal the deal by offering me no charge for the so-called $125 worth of "work" he'd done to my melted laptop. A little too convenient. I decided to pay the extra money and took the laptop to Apple and- surprise- the smoking and overheating was due to the shoddy battery replacement work. More money spent, but now I know where not to go for computer repairs. I even had to buy a new Mac charger because he never gave it back and claimed to not have it. Please don't go here for your repairs. It seems times have gotten tough for the business and has led to these kinds of shady tactics. Here, it's not computers that matter, or customers that matter. Here, money is what matters. I added a photo to show the damage (circled in red) after the battery was removed. A simple google search for a diagram of the inside of a Mac will show you that this is exactly where the battery should be. Again- conveniently- they kept the melted heap that was...
Read moreI had an exceptional experience with Mike & Crystal of Computer Matters and I can't recommend them enough!
Our network crashed right before our signature fundraising event. Especially after another company came in and only muttled the problem. After a quick search, I found Computer Matters and decided to give them a try based on their positive reviews. From the moment I called, I was greeted with friendly and professional service.
Mike, the owner, and Crystal truly know their stuff. They quickly diagnosed the issue and explained the repair process to me in a way that I could understand. They provided me with an accurate estimate and a reasonable turnaround time.
Not only did he fix the initial problem, but he also optimized our network with a Mesh net system and updated all our computers to a solid state, making them run faster and smoother than before. It's like we have a brand computers! Mike even took the time to give me some useful tips on how to maintain our computers and surge problems.
What really impressed me was their transparency and honesty. There were no hidden fees or surprises when I received the final bill. The cost was exactly as they had quoted me initially. It's refreshing to find a business that values its customers and their trust.
