We ended up here after a horrible experience at Crab's Claw restaurant. We picked Promised Land Market simply because it was open late and everywhere else was closing. Best decision ever! The front is a quaint wine bar with a great playlist playing at a perfect volume so you can both hear the music and have no trouble carrying on a conversation with the people at your table. The back end is an upbeat bar with comfortable seating energetic music and activities like a foosball table. While I would probably categorize this as a wine bar, it definitely has high-end restaurant quality food and you will not be disappointed for choosing it as your restaurant for the evening. It has a vast selection of craft beer, wine and artisan cheeses as well as a full menu and catering options and the prices are reasonable. It serves a wide variety of artisanal "bar foods" like tacos, pizza, and burgers. I had the black grouper BLT which was phenomenal. But they also have dinner specials. My wife had the yellow fin tuna which was exceptional. Our waitress Cheyenne was charming, attentive and knowledgeable. Service was fast and she was quick to check on our needs without being intrusive. Absolutely top notch service! All the staff were wonderful. We were even surprised to see they had a selection of Greek wines. This was a five-star experience all around and we will definitely...
Read moreFast friendly service and nice presentation but food was salty and a but pricy for the amount. Tuesday lunch. I was looking for shrimp tacos and they have fried shrimp nachos (?) and fish tacos, but not shrimp. They did not offer to sub shrimp for grouper, unfortunately, so I went with the bang bang shrimp nachos ($16). The shrimp was wonderful. Fresh, well seasoned and hot. Unfortunately, the nachos were indible. The chips had way too much salt and lime, and otherwise lacked corn flavor. The black beans, onions, and tomatoes looked nice but didn't add much to the taste. It had a generous heaping of avocado. The sriracha mayo was similar to a remoulade--nice with the shrimp. My dad had the Cuban ($17) and he was quite happy with it and the carolina cole slaw. I tried it and agreed the slaw was very tasty, but the pork tasted very salty to me and the mustard overwhelmed it to the point I couldn't eat it. The straws were oddly small and the glass had so much ice that I ran out of drink quickly. Service was fast but nothing remarkable. I would come back for fried seafood and nice atmosphere, certainly. But I'd stick to a classic platter or sandwich and skip anything with a specific flavor profile...
Read moreI’m not good with remembering names, so apologies in advance. I stopped here after doing a full day offshore fishing that I woke up at 4:30AM. After being seasick and having no appetite until I got off the ship, I went to the Promise Land Market. The tall gentleman did a great job helping me with my order and providing me with my sweet tea as I waited for my order. He said I was welcome to drink it as I waited and he would refill it, which was GREATLY appreciated.
He had a coworker that was working there watching the front while he went to the back. She told me she was from NY. After some chit chat with her, as soon as I finished my drink, she immediately refilled it, no questions asked. And eventually on the third refill, she got me a larger container so that I could quench my thirst better. Overall great service from the staff from my experience. And they were very authentic with their interaction with me so I feel that they are genuinely nice people.
You can find good food everywhere these days, not so much with service and genuinely nice people. This interaction was the cherry on top of my overall experience in Morehead City.
THANK YOU. The food...
