Ever went to McDonalds and asked for a burger with extra ketchup no onion? Kindly let them know they messed it up & give them time to fix it to still be given your order wrong AGAIN. Kindly reach out yet again and give time to fix it and they still give it back to you with no ketchup and extra onion? Yeah you'd be irritated right? Absolutely sounds like my experience with parking. After an already long and unprofessional miscommunication they still decided to put in the notes that I picked up a parking pass on the 10th that actually wasn't mailed until the 14th. For that I got a ticket stating that I wasn't displaying my parking pass that I received on the 10th, which I didn't get until the 17th so its impossible to have been displaying it on the 15th. Appealed it and got it down to $10 for non display when clearly I can't display what you have in your possession. The story changed constantly to them TELLING me I picked it up to them saying it was destroyed but didn't even know that they themselves mailed it out. Could have been much smoother if they were organized and took better notes. I have no idea how many times I can break something down into Layman's terms in stating "I have not received the pass you say I should have displayed." Whats worse is when the "Sergeant" thought I left he started to talk about me to some little chick that works beneath him and when I said "Uhm, the doors still open." he yelled "I don't care I'll say it to your face!" and rushed to the door. This guy definitely wishes he worked in a real force and tried to be tough at the wrong time. Unprofessional much? An absolute mess and if they had a little less arrogance and more attention on what they are doing it would be much smoother. Overall school is okay. Only taken a couple classes here but have never had any problems with any other professionals and the student services department is actually FANTASTIC! Parking is VERY unorganized however. How many times can 1 department get one thing wrong? All could have been avoided with better notes stating they mailed me the pass but they definitely kept poking me with wrong information to then play victim later. I understand some can not admit when wrong but its a bad trait in the workplace. I don't know whether knowing that this guy Tom is embarrassed because he was made to look incompetent because of a lazy coworker is enough to suffice or if I will pursue a formal complaint still (more than likely). I guess they are really in dyer need for ten more...
Read moreWORST COLLEGE EVER BUT (Good Supportive people almost) I am writing this review to share a balanced experience at Moreno Valley College. There are areas where the support is outstanding, and areas where it is dangerously unresponsive.
✅ Area of Success: Dedicated Faculty and High-Level Engagement The quality of support from certain faculty members and high-level administration is excellent:
Professor Support: My instructor in my Physical Geography course (GEG 1) was incredibly proactive. When I needed help, the professor personally offered to drop a low quiz score and strongly encouraged me to reach out to the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) for accommodations like extended time on exams. This quick, personalized support was vital for my success.
Office of Instruction (DOI): When I had a complex issue and needed guidance, the DOI responded quickly to my initial escalation. They provided the necessary formal process and contact information for the Department Chair, showing that the central administration is engaged in guiding students through administrative hurdles.
❌ Critical Failure: Music Department Administrative Breakdown My experience with the administrative chain for my Music course was extremely disappointing and nearly caused me to fail:
Non-Responsive Professor: Despite needing an urgent meeting to address a failing grade and an academic integrity concern, I could not obtain the instructor's office hours.
Administrative Failure: When I escalated the issue to the VPA Administration, I received no response, forcing me to go to the DOI.
Lack of Resolution: The professor and VPA's non-responsiveness created a hostile situation where I, a student on the Autism Spectrum, was forced to navigate three levels of bureaucracy (Professor, VPA, DOI) just to schedule a simple meeting. The failure of the Music department's administration to support students needing urgent guidance is a serious issue that jeopardizes academic standing.
Prospective students should be aware that while some departments and faculty are excellent, the administrative support within the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) department may fail you when you need it most. because moreno valley college wanted you fail to grades not because moreno valley college wants you fail but just because moreno valley college loves to see people suffering and failing...
Read moreIf you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or...
