EDIT 6/15/25 I continue to discover things I ‘need’ from Chuck’s Furniture - this time it is an aqua color lamp to go in that same tv room. I was able to bring it home with me from the store - Angela is so pleasant and helpful, and she knows me well enough to make suggestions! I do love that about her, a lot! A gazillion stars for her, and for the store!
EDIT 2/3/25 The chairs for the tv room arrived two days before Christmas. Some other tasks in the room before I was ready to post. I am adding a couple of pictures of the two swivel upholstered chairs, and the Amish wood (spectacular!) rocker and stool. Lance and Marcus delivered on December 23. They had a very full schedule that day and there were still 5 deliveries after mine. What fine careful, well-done moving chairs in and a flight of stairs. So perfect. At every turn, my experience at Chuck’s has been stellar. I would continue giving a gazillion stars if I could Thank you!!!!!! .
EDIT, 9/4/24 Just when I think I am done outfitting the house…. I pulled up the only wall-to-wall carpet in the tv room…and one thing led to another… Today I worked with Shawn and she helped me with fabric for 2 swivel rockers, and leather for a platform rocker and matching ottoman. The furniture is ordered and when it is delivered I will come back and post pics. Shawn is also trying to work some magic with one of the suppliers to do an additional thing.
This room has a bold rug and curry and jalapeño colored walls. Here’s what you need to know: Shawn and Angela’s suggestions will make it possible for what I chose with walls and rug to work.
I love that about them. As Carly Simon would sing, nobody does it better!
EDIT, 4/1/24. This is the edit to the edit below. Just two days shy of a month and I have the furniture I ordered. Perfect. Fabrics. Style. Those are really the assumptions - what is stellar are the folks who are the “helpers” in the world. Everyone who I have worked with are the best at what they do. Thank you again to Angela and Shawn, the folks in the office, the fine crews who brought everything to the house. Rock stars, all.
EDIT, 2/28/24. Two years ago I received the furniture described below. Yesterday I traveled to Morgantown with the intention of beginning to look for some chairs/ottoman/table/lamp for a room that was part of a massive renovation in 2023. Always greeted upon entry to the 3 story collection of all kinds of styles, Angela said she would help if …. So I showed her a rug that is already in place in the new space, and one could just see her design wheels engage! Yesterday I was able to make the decisions, and two of the chairs are special ordered. I have done special orders here before and have never been disappointed! Thank you Angela!!!!!!! And to think two years ago I thought my outfitting my home was complete! I recommend this store, and Angela and Shawn, and the delivery staff, and all of the efficient folks in the office. No detail is omitted. It is a five star experience for sure. I am beyond grateful!!!!!!! ~* This is a wonderful place to find just what suits. In the the summer of 2021, I began considering furniture for living and dining rooms. Shawn, my consultant, was a perfect fit for me. She helped me to consider the space in my home along with color palette. Coming out of the most severe part of the pandemic, I custom ordered sofa, chairs, tables for living room and a handcrafted dining table. I waited 11 months, which I knew I was going to do. Read moreIf I could give no stars I would... I have purchased two different items from Chuck's (not even sure why I bought the second there... shame on me), only to have poor experience both times. The first was a dining room table and chairs. Upon delivery the chairs were poorly constructed (three of them had two legs at least an inch shorter than the others) and had to be sent back. Then, I noticed the lacquer on the table was not wearing evenly - it was immediately dull in some sections and still shiny in others. When the "repair person" finally came out, they said they "didn't see anything" and proceeded to wipe on something that didn't do anything. To add insult to injury, they sent a follow-up flyer on "how to care for your wooden table".
Unfortunately, we went back to Chuck's to purchase a mattress for my youngest (temporary insanity I suppose, and we were on that side of town)... not a bed frame or elaborate piece of furniture, just a mattress... a double size mattress. We were told it would take 4 - 6 weeks for it to arrive in the store, and that they would call us when it was ready to be delivered. Well... 8 weeks later, no phone call. When I finally reached out to them, they said, "oh, the sales person usually schedules the delivery upon purchase... mattresses usually arrive every week"... you have got to be kidding me right? Basically, they have such great customer service that they expect you to call them to get your purchase delivered, after spending large sums of money in their store. No thanks - I will take my business to Star Furniture. We purchased a special order sofa from Star, at the same time we purchased the mattress -it arrived three weeks ago... in perfect condition...
Read moreI purchased a couch from Chuck's in 2011. Chuck's representative at the time offered me a warranty from ultrashield. I explained that I would be moving to Baltimore, MD in the next couple of years and inquired if I would be able to have my couch fixed/replaced in Baltimore. I was assured that this would not be an issue...Fast forward to Oct 2014. I accidentally ripped a hole in it while taking the AC unit out. I immediately report the rip to ultrashield and request it be fixed. I'm told that they can't fix a 1-2 inch rip and instead will replace the couch and will give Chuck's the store credit to do so. Once Chuck's is reminded that I have moved to Baltimore (they lost my purchase receipt and everything - thank goodness I save everything) they refuse to ship me anything. Requesting that they hold themselves accountable for their word and what they promised me, I was finally told In April 2015 by a different Chuck's furniture representative that I could pick out a couch and it would be shipped to a local Baltimore store. I was given the choice of their website and another one called Hughes furniture. Now in June 2015, I'm being told that this is no longer the case. That they are not willing to ship a couch this distance despite the previous conversations they have had with me. I would not purchase from this place. You cannot trust them on so many levels.
