I’ve been a customer of GameStop in Moultrie for 10+ years and have never had an experience like this. I have traded in multiple systems with no issue until now. I have had an Xbox that I ordered online for 2 days. It arrived faulty and the games glitched. I tried calling customer service but was put on hold for over 1.5 hrs. So I called our local GameStop to return or exchange it. I had to call multiple times and talk to multiple people, they were all confused about how to simply return it. I finally got an answer from someone about exchanging it. We went to the store and he said they could not take it because there was an “infestation.” I was confused and said okay. I immediately took the box back to my car and examined it. I did not see any signs of roaches. Pictures are included. He was not able to provide any proof or photos of the roaches. I understand the policy, but I believe I would have noticed if my game console was infested with roaches. I would not have brought the console in if I thought it was infested or unsanitary. The attached photos were taken immediately upon getting back in my car. This whole situation is extremely frustrating. His use of words like “infestation” made me feel uncomfortable and put a bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately the manager was not available to help us. Frustrated, we called the Moultrie store to see if they could help. Chris answered the phone and was immediately helpful and proactive. He listened to the entire situation, quickly called us back with an update, and even contacted his district manager to escalate the issue. Thanks to him, the district manager reached out to the Albany store directly, and we were finally able to get the full refund we should have received in the first place. Chris went above and beyond to solve a problem that wasn’t even his store’s fault. If you’re shopping for games or consoles, I highly recommend visiting the Moultrie location.
