This review is about Stephen (works in auto care center). I bought a car battery and got it installed at their auto care center. I asked if the battery can be tested prior, so I have the peace of mind that it isnât either dead or low, and that I am getting a quality product. He responded to my request by laughing, and walking around the store, saying âitâs off the shelf⌠itâs not gonna be dead HAHAâ I was shocked and appalled at his behavior. Throughout the wait time, I noticed him acting differently to other customers of his ethnicity in line, and giving them good service. After the car battery was installed he whistled and signaled me to come to the register. I asked if they tested the battery and if I could exit the shorter way once finished. He didnât say anything nor look at me, but just waved the receipt in front of my face, similar to how you ring a bell for a dog to signal to eat. He says âtime to payâ⌠Again I was observant of the situation and appalled in silence.
This whole experience led me to believe I was being discriminated against due to my appearance or race - not specifically about my request, which was reasonable.
When I brought this up to management, they seemed annoyed at my complaint and denied he was discriminating against me, citing that there are people of other ethnicities who work there. I was disappointed in their response. Their initial lack of action prompted me to call corporate and ASK to be compensated. I was finally issued a Walmart gift card, which I appreciated; however I would appreciate it more if they take these things seriously from the start and take care of their customers properly when an allegation like this arises - and more importantly ENSURE this man is properly disciplined so NOBODY experiences this...
Read moreYesterday I needed a prescription filled and the Mount Airy Walmart was the fourth place I went to after being told by the first three places that they didn't have it in stock. And Walmart had it in stock. So I asked that they fill it and the total was nearly $100. Rekha, the assistant, seemed to think that was excessive and encouraged me to go home and look for my discount prescription card. I bought the pain medicine at full price because the local from the dentist was wearing off... Then I went home and found my Rx card right away. I tried to activate it online but had trouble so I just returned to Walmart to see if they could figure it out. Well the staff was different after a shift change, but they were still willing to help me. Between Sonya and Cindi, they found the reason my card wouldn't work, gave me a new number to call, got me signed up, had new cards sent to me AND refunded the money I had paid for the pain medicine and my total for both meds after they got my Rx plan activated? A mere $4.48. I want to thank the three ladies as well as Mike, the pharmacist. I went on the website on the back of the receipt (the survey) to file my compliments to the staff, but found no place to post a comment. So I am doing it here, because good customer service deserves to...
Read moreI called a refill prescription into your pharmacy this past Monday. Checked if ready on Wednesday while picking up a different prescription; was told my Dr. hadnât OKed refill yet. Called Friday morning to make sure was ready to pickup. Waited a long time to get through but finally a nice young lady answered and checked; was told Dr. had never been contacted! She said she would take care of it, which she did but suggested I call my Drs. office to speed process, which I did! I tried the entire day to get through to pharmacy, up until after 8:00 pm, to see if ready! NO ONE WOULD ANSWERâźď¸ I tried again this morning (Saturday) and after eventually getting through to main number and trying to explain my problem, was switched in mid sentence to pharmacy and, amazingly, SOMEONE ANSWERED! He was very nice and told me my prescription WAS READY! I ask about curbside pickup? Not available today; was not available Wednesday either! I have tried to be understanding but this is not acceptable in any way. I am 82 years old and still in fairly good shape but no one should have to endure something like this. I doubt if Walmart cares, one way or the other, and will do nothing about it! I can, and will change...
