I shop here because out occasionally work out in Frederick. When i shop in the morning, the entire staff is welcoming and friendly.. However, yesterday (5/1/25) was my 1st unpleasant experience and it was with Cashier/Customer Service Manager 0122. My ticket# 0032. The worst experience I've had at this location. He was super friendly with the two different customers prior to me. When i reached the register, He never spoke and just continue to throw my groceries. I asked if he could not throw my items to the counter on the other side of the register. He never responded. I then said okay, maybe he's having a rough day so I spoke. Greeting him with " hello, how are you?" thinking that since he'd greeted and had pleasantries with the two prior customers, I'd get a better interaction. No.. He continued on to just provide me a total. I had several items that were on sale and with additional MPV clipped coupons, ( Persil- 11.99 plus the 3.00 off, which should've been 8.99 air freshener/ air wick and glade, that 3.10 with additional discounts) I asked him if he could check to see if they came off... before he checked, he just responded that it came off. I asked again if he could look. He responded, "it's up there'. i can't go back and look but it'll show on your receipt. From the total i could tell that they did not come off on the detergent, amongst other items... He gives me the receipt and i review. I go over to the customer service desk and who comes over but the gentlemen that rang me at the register. i point out to him that this is the reason why i asked him to check so that i could avoid having to come back and get a refund. He asked me what the issue was and i advised that the coupons from the MVP weren't taken off and he said oh well, sometimes the system misses it. I said maybe but that's why i asked you to check and tried to show you via my app. He then went in and provided a refund of 3.00 back to my debit card. Handed me the receipt and walked off. No apology, no conversation or explanation.. If this gentlemen is the customer service manger, he provided NO customer service to me and I will not shop where I am not welcomed. Read moreThe Food Lion in Mount Airy is the best grocery store to go to by far!! I actually compared prices item by item with 2 other grocery stores in Mount Airy and Food Lion was cheaper on every item that I got. Just to clarify, I was doing my normal grocery shopping, I wasn't just picking out items that I knew were going to be cheaper. Anyhow, then on top of that, I used my club card (which i think every other grocery store has one) and it took an additional $31.00 off my bill. Let's put it this way, I shop for 3 and I had 2 1/2 full grocery carts and my bill was $150. Which is absolutely phenomenal. I thought for sure that my bill was going to be about $230-$250 easy.
