Mt Carmel Nursing Rehab Center — Local services in Mount Carmel Township

Called this place starting at the beginning of the Month to have my Father transferred to here, The woman who answered the phone sent transferred me to talk with Amy , I immediately get her voicemail, leave a message she Never called back. Wait 2 days and repeat after not hearing back, same thing,Amy never called back, Call the next week same thing,no return call back, 3rd week now December 2nd , call and finialy get ahold of this woman,who states that they didn't have any Free Beds available so that's why she never bothered calling me back??? What the hell kinda place is this , So she doesn't return calls if they don't have any space? Very unprofessional person this Amy is, and I'm very glad now that I didn't place my Dad in here if they act like even returning a phone call is burden. I can't imagine how this place is getting 5 star reviews unless they are getting them by their Employees. Not at all happy with this level of carelessness and unprofessional work ethic. I Will definitely be calling the State to let them know how this place conducts business....

Horrible place very under staffed dirty and lazy .nurses claim their busy but when you go to nurses station there's 2of them playing on phones.mom was there 1 day and had to go to er for severe trembling .they couldn't figure it out er found her blood sugar at 25 and severely dehydrated.stayed in hospital 3 days now they send me a bill for 1000 dollars for a bed hold .then she got a uti probably from not getting bath for 6 or 7 days that they denied . Was mentally out of it didn't even know her own kids. Back to er again they found uti in less than 1 hr.this is all in 14 days .she was only supposed to be there to get her legs Back from hospital stay and they almost killed her twice Wouldn't take my dog there seriously considering sueing the place .went to schuylkill center in pottsville there for 20 days to get her legs stronger not a problem no dementia or sundowners disease like .t Carmel said she had .I pity the poor people that have no family to check on them .they couldn't close the place quick...

My 86 year old mother was a resident at Mt Carmel after breaking a hip. We had an excellent experience! Having been in Long term care my entire 30 plus year career, I know what to look for and the care that is given at a Skilled facility.

The positives to Mt Carmel are the same dedicated staff to the rehab unit 5 days per week and then the same for the weekend staff. They get to know your family member and can meet your love ones needs. The Rehab therapy staff are incredible and they provide 7 day a week therapy.

After one week, my mom was able to walk with her assistive device(walker) back into her Assisted Living apartment. We have continued outpatient therapy services and as of May 1, she is totally independent in her Activities of Daily Living!
