Verizon — Local services in Mount Olive

We called and asked if they had the Verizon JetPack in stock and could we get it on a monthly pay-as-you-go plan. They said yes and that it cost $200.00. We jumped in the car and went to the store. We arrived, announced that we had called about the JetPack and said we wanted to purchase it.

I was surprised when they asked for my license but I handed it over. I was really annoyed when they asked for my social security number and said so.

"Why", I asked, "Would I have to give you my social security number for something I am going to pay cash for?" The guy looked confused and said that's the way they do it. I told them I was not going to subject myself to a credit check for something I am buying outright. The guy indicated that the owner was in the back and he would get him. After 10 minutes of waiting I asked if the owner was really in the store. The 'guy' explained that he was on the phone and he did want to interrupt him.

We walked out the door.

While I was waiting I pulled out my employer check stub and asked them to process it so I would get the discount. He said they don't do that and said I had to do it online.

Now these guys are resellers so maybe they can't or maybe they won't.

In the past I tried to return a Verizon product there and they explained that they are resellers and I would have to bring it to the store in Succasunna (which we did).

On the way home I was thinking about where else we could get a wireless hotspot and it occurred to me that Radio Shack (where I bought all the stuff for my son's science fair) sells cell phones. So we went there.

We asked at Radio Shack if they have the Verizon Hotspot and they said yes and quickly produced it. In ten minutes I purchased it, they activated it and we were out the door. And it was only $129.00, not $200.00.

I had an excellent experience at the Verizon store in Flanders, thanks to the amazing customer service from Vic. I came in with an issue with my daughter’s iPhone, after having a frustrating experience at another Verizon location and even at the Apple Store. Both places only offered pushy sales pitches, insisting that the only solution was to add a line and upgrade to the latest iPhone.

Vic, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. He was patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly, not pushy at all. He listened to the issue, took the time to understand the problem, and quickly identified the solution—switching to an eSIM. What seemed like a complex issue was resolved in no time.
