Today was my 4th visit & will be the last. I understand the lunch buffet not returning because of Covid but apparently now there is no longer a lunch special menu. I ordered the vegetarian special combo which was served on a lunch special size tray but at a full dinner price. I asked for garlic Naan instead of plain & was upchanged an additional $1 which was whatever. So w/a Diet Coke & tip I spent $32 for lunch which is basically double what it used to be there. Confusing because 2 Saturdays ago, lunch time as well, I had the Chefs special combo, non Veg,double the food but same price! But the thing that bothered me the most was the Owner or Manager, not sure his title, was on a personal call only a few feet away from the patrons screaming & using the F-Bomb! All us diners got quiet & just looked at eachother in shock. I luv supporting local businesses but I'll be making the drive elsewhere. Not only because of the portion & price inconsistencies but mostly because of the rude & unprofessional actions of that 1 employee. If he is the Owner then that's even more ridiculous. I didn't come to ur establishment to hear ur vulgar phone call...
Read moreListen. I love indian food. I eat Indian food as often as I can. I make indian food at my home once a week. I go out of my way- I take a detour home to get Indian food. This is the context I want to provide you with my deep love on indian food before reading my review for Taste of India.
Taste of India is the best Indian I've ever tasted in my entire life. It is a bordeline biblical experience eating their dishes. I know what you're thinking- but wait. Do you mean that for everything? Or do you mean that just for the Tikka Masala? No, I've made my way through this menu. It is also outstanding (though get the garlic naan and get one order more than you would think you should need). Whenever I come home, I specifically ask my parents to pick up from Taste of India. I grew up in this area, i worked at several of the local restaurants nearby. I've eaten at the Oldmill. I've had Frank's pizza. I've been through the morristown scene. Believe me, there is not a whole lot to do in morris county besides eat.
Nowhere comes close to Taste of India. If you are on the fence, do yourself a favor and don't deny yourself the opportunity to...
Read moreThe Samosas at Taste of India are by far the best I've ever tried - perfect flaky crust and tasty filling. We got a variety of dishes for everyone to sample and share and EVERYTHING we tried was great. The Naan bread was divine and they only make it once your meal is ready so this is as fresh as it gets. The complimentary chips and salsa are even worth mentioning - the red salsa was very unqiue and tasty (and I normally don't like salsa). The staff is very friendly, efficient and professional, they make it a point to describe what you get with your order and provide options (very lucky too, otherwise I would have gotten cilantro garnish on my food -YUK). The owners are also attentive to every customer, go out of their way to ensure satisfaction and you can tell they take great pride in their business. The food came quickly, the orders were correct and tasted amazing. The place is also very clean and nicely decorated. The price is average for a good meal and the portions are reasonable. We had leftovers (and they even added free extra rice for the leftovers!) I'm so glad I found this gem, we will...
