China House — Restaurant in Mount Olive

First time eating at this popular spot. My wife and I were very fortunate to eat here on our 3 year anniversary. She was very impressed with the General Tso Chicken combo plate (comes with pork fried rice and egg roll). She was so impressed, she called her mother to tell her about that good chicken. Cooked perfectly and delicious taste. Great pork fried rice, good onion ratio.

Before my wife saw the order in the bag I actually hid the steamed dumplings in garage fridge. They are my favorite and I was scared she was going to eat them all. I told her they forgot them, but they didn’t, it was me. Please do not tell her. I went back later in the night to eat them in our garage.

All in all great experience. Five stars. I get the sense they appreciate my business. And I appreciate them putting in the hard work to feed...

1st, it took 10 minutes for someone to greet me when I arrived to pick up my order.

2nd, The website says "China House is a cornerstone in Flanders and has been recognized for its outstanding Chinese cuisine, excellent service and friendly staff."

Not sure who came up with that statement because there's way better chinese in the area. Don't get me wrong the staff was friendly but the food was not "cornerstone" material. The general tso was over-fried to unchewable, and it was dry. It also stated it'd be spicy and that it was not. The egg drop soup was qouted to be "egg water", the crab Rangoon was so tough to chew, the filling was super fishy, and over all the meal was just bland and...

11/10/20 - I have given this place the opportunity to get better and it has not happened. Not only has the food sucked, the nasty service at the lockdown area is even worse. I spent a good amount of money on Food here, but today it ends. Will have to make the trip to Denville to get real Chinese Food.

10/2017 This place has changed a lot over the past year. There used to be a woman who worked the front that ran that place like a machine. Amazingly she would always remember what you would order when you called in and always would give extra egg rolls. Once she left, every order placed on the phone is painful.
